Wasn’t amounting to a great deal over fences last season for Alan King, only winning once in a novice event before finding his form tailing right off towards the end of the season.

However, things looked to have clicked into place to a degree as he returned to action this season with an impressive display to win a class 3 event by a huge 25 lengths. Upped in Grade for the December Gold Cup after that he put in a decent performance to be 4th behind Fugitif and Il Ridotto.

Gets to run off his actual chase mark in this event and gets a huge swing in the weights with Il Ridoto, if in the same form he can get involved in the placings again.

A though looking renewal of the Cotswolds Chase, Datsalrightgino looks to have plenty going for him coming into the contest and might just be the least exposed of these in the staying ranks.

Campaigned as a 2.5 miler for most of his career, he showed he handles Cheltenham when winning a novice hurdle here and going close in a chase behind Stage Star. Unable to go the gallop at the Festival despite being favourite for the Plate Handicap, connections look to have sussed him out with a lethal performance in the Coral Gold Cup to collar assured stayer Mahler Mission in the late stages.

Might just find a new lease of life as a staying chaser and likely that we’ve yet to see the best of him now tackling these longer trips.

An impressive novice season saw Ashroe Diamond pick up a maiden before a brace of third place finishes in Grade One events.

She took her form to new heights when winning a Grade Three and a Grade One against her own sex in the Spring in emphatic fashion over 18 furlongs and 20 furlongs.

She wasn't disgraced to be 3rd on her reappearance in the Hatton's Grace Hurdle behind smart geldings and that should have brought her along nicely for this. Mullins sends over two for this but Ashroe Diamond looks to more likely of the pair with Gala Marceau having to tackle open company for the first time as a five year old.

Should have the pace to cope with this drop in trip.

It’s impossible to get away from the Nicky Henderson favourite in this race who’s only tasted defeat twice in his career over obstacles.

Finding Constitution Hill too good in the Supreme, he was then beaten by El Fabiolo in the Arkle but remains blemish free when not facing those lofty rivals.

Sets a clear standard at the head of affairs and should be hard to beat en route to the Champion Chase.

Might arrive here with something to prove in terms of stamina but looked to have a big engine when staying on powerfully to break his maiden in impressive fashion at Ascot.

Steps up markedly in trip and grade here but looks to have the stamina needed for this test and the nearest market rival clearly has his quirks. The form of his win has yet to be tested but visually it looked like a smart performance.

Should have some improvement yet to come and might just find this trip more to his liking.

The two mares are eating up a good chunk of the market at the head of affairs but there’s a good bit of value in Rubaud’s price at this level.

As impressive as Lossiemouth was in the Triumph, it’s notoriously difficult for 5 year olds stepping into open company and she’s lacking a recent run to sharpen her up. Love Envoi doesn’t tend to be at her best over 2 miles so both are likely using this as a stepping stone to the Mare’s Hurdle in March.

Rubaud has won three grade 2 events over hurdles and chased home Constitution Hill in the Christmas Hurdle. Might just have enough pace to get away from Love Envoi at the front end and test Lossiemouth’s fitness.

Scored in a bumper and over hurdles before tackling chasing this season. Was a bit unlucky to have bumped into some really smart sorts over fences but got off the mark at the third time of asking when getting the better of Frero Banbou at Newbury.

Upped into a Grade Two when last seen, he only found the impressive Djelo too good but stayed on well to be a clear 2nd. However his handicap mark has taken a steep rise for that effort.

Has been shaping like 3 miles will be more his game and has plenty of experience under his belt. A mark of 141 is stiff enough but he's unexposed over this kind of trip and he could yet draw out another step forward from a promising looking novice.

It looked like the curtain was coming down on Paisley Park’s glittering career as the 2019 Stayer’s Hurdle winner looked to have lost his sparkle but the revival he’s shown this season has been electric.

Only beaten by the narrowest of margins on both of his outings so far this season, a lack of a recent run likely got the better of him at Newbury and he was only seen off by younger legs at Ascot.

This looks a poor renewal of the Cleeve Hurdle and It looks to be the prime opportunity for Paisley Park to get his head back in front despite being 12 years of age.
