Belmont Park Preview - 10/07/21

Belmont NAP, Singles & Double

19:31 - Blitz To Win

This 3-y-o made a very eye-catching debut flying home at Gulfstream in January however he has failed to back that up in his subsequent starts and he has now been gelded.

He came back to some sort of form when second here last time out and if he is able to build on that effort he may well be good enough to take a race of this nature.

Castellano rides for Barclay Tagg.

21:06 - Santa Barbara DOUBLE & Higher Truth

We have two in the Belmont Oaks starting with 4/5 shot Santa Barbara who looks to build on her recent second in the Pretty Polly.

The winner of that event recently finished second in the New York Stakes here so the form transfers over to the US and she has always been held in high regard by connections.

At a bigger price we feel Chad Brown’s unexposed Higher Truth could run into the frame.

This daughter of Galileo has an excellent European pedigree and she has showed a good attitude in her two starts at Belmont.

21:38 - Australsia

Next up is the Grade 3 Victory Ride Stakes where Australasia looks to make it a perfect 7/7.

Brad Cox’s 3-y-o filly looked in trouble here last time out but she flashed home to deny a couple of today’s rivals making this extra 110y look a positive.

She will want a strong pace to aim at but we should get that here.

22:12 - Bolshoi Ballet DOUBLE

This year’s Epsom Derby favourite heads the betting in the Belmont Derby and if he is able to bounce back to his previous best then he will be very hard to beat.

He is unbeaten on a quicker surface and 2/3 at 10f.

22:44 - Migrate NAP

The NAP and final selection at Belmont is Migrate for William Mott.

This 3-y-o made a smart debut here in June coming from last to fourth under tender handling and any improvement on that effort would make him hard to beat.

William Mott’s horses tend to step forward for their first run and the forecast suggests he will open up a nice price.
