Trainer To Follow - William Haggas

William Haggas is having a fine season to date and the first day of the Ebor meeting he holds some very strong chances that could enhance his trainer championship credentials.

Haggas' big chance of the afternoon comes in the Group One Juddmonte International with Baaeed stepping up to 1m2f and looking to 10/10.

The Newmarket handler also holds another big chance across the day with the favourite Pink Crystal in the Fillies' Handicap over 5f.

Haggas heads into the meeting sporting a strike rate of 30% for the last two weeks managing to land 11 winners from his last 37 runners.

Jockey To Follow - William Buick

William Buick has a superb book of rides on the first day of the York Ebor meeting and that makes him the jockey to follow on the Knavesmire.

Buick rides for Tim Easterby in the opener with Sunday Sovereign looking to bounce back to form and then the Norwegian teams back up with Charlie Appleby and Godolphin with Local Dynasty.

In the Group Two Great Voltigeur Stakes Secret State looks to have a big chance coming out of handicap company into a Group Two.

Native Trail goes for the rider in the Juddmonte International getting weight off the field and then in the Stayers Handicap, Alfred Boucher stepping up to two miles is interesting.

Buick rounds off the afternoon with two rides for George Boughey on Corazon in the 5f handicap and then in the 6f handicap on Mrs U S A.

The champion jockey to be is currently running at a strike rate of 33% for the last two weeks managing to land 13 winners from his last 40 rides.
