Three To Follow From Thurles On Sunday

The first selection from us on Sunday at Thurles comes in the feature race of the day which sees 11 mares tackle a Listed Hurdle over two miles.

The horse that takes the eye at the weights is the four year old filly for Willie Mullins Gauloise who looked like a superb recruit for the yard on debut and could be a very special horse in the future.

Having won a 12 furlong event in France in April, she was then bought by Kenneth Alexander (owner of Honeysuckle) and given to Willie Mullins.

She was frightening on debut over course and distance when winning a Maiden Hurdle with any amount in hand and although this is tougher she looks could enough to compete.

Next up is the Boomerang.ie Handicap Hurdle over two miles and the horse that we fancy is the Conright Boy who looks to be on a very nice mark.

The 11 year old has been a consistent horse for the most part of his career in these sorts of races and having been superb so far this season we are sticking with him to go well again.

Needing the run on his seasonal debut, he came on a lot for that run and finished a good second of 12 runners at Gowran Park in heavy ground.

Having been dropped in the handicap 6lb he then went to cork in the same ground and got off the mark for the season and although up 5lb for this race he looks to be a horse in form.

The penultimate selection of the day at Thurles from us comes in the three mile Novice Hurdle and Allbarone for Henry De Bromhead looks to have the credentials to win this race.

The six year old goes for smart connections who have had some nice horses in their time and this gelding could be another.

Although taking some time to warm to hurdles, everything is now starting to click finishing second of 11 two starts ago at Wexford and last time out getting off the mark at Limerick.

That was the first time he was stepped up to three miles in his career and now given another try at the trip makes him interesting.
