ITV Racing Tips for Today - Friday 27th March

ITV Racing are live from Gosforth park for seven live races at Newcastle on Friday night. With a mix of competitive handicap action to go through we've analysed all seven live races for the card and picked out our selections and tips for the evenings all weather action.

Penny Mountain 17/2

Won here over 6 furlongs back in January and hasn’t been suited by small fields since stepping up in trip, not getting a good pace to aim at from the rear. Has run creditably to be 2nd both times and gets a nice big field with a good deal of pace on here while looking well handicapped off a mark of 56. 3lbs claimer Amy Waugh retains the ride.

Pitt Boss 4/1

Has been beaten twice by Yorkshire Glory already this year but meets that rival on better terms now and showed he had become well handicapped when winning over C+D 6 days ago. Escapes a penalty for that win and sneaks in here off the same mark with a 5lbs claimer taking over in the saddle.

Sherlock 9/4

Made the drop to a sprinting trip last time out and relished the drop in distance, winning at this course over 5 furlongs, making all the running to win with a bit in hand. The 4th has come out and won twice since in a lower grade giving the form some substance and a 6lbs rise in the weights likely hasn’t gotten to the bottom of his ability as a sprinter. Tackles 6 furlongs now and could yet improve again in this sphere.

Badri 8/1

Has begun to slowly come down in the weights and a mark of 89 looks very workable for this experienced sprinter. A close 2nd on his last run over C+D came on a 1lbs higher mark and didn’t handle the drop to 5f or the switch to Wolverhampton since. A replication of his C+D effort in January puts him firmly in the mix.

Rogue Encore 22/1

Has a good record at Newcastle when in class 4 handicaps over a mile, with three efforts seeing him win twice and come 2nd. Has Struggled in a higher grade as of late but eases in the weights to be only 1lbs higher than for his last win and returns to class 4 company. Tends to save his best for this venue and distance, can outrun big odds.

Benacre 9/1

Has been in solid form of late, coming 2nd over C+D in January before going one better and winning here last month. Put in an average effort at Wolverhampton when last seen but still looks well treated just 1lbs higher in the weights than for his last win and rarely finishes outside the frame at this venue.

Master Of My Fate 13/2

Got the better of Sports Coach last month at Southwell but saw that form reversed on revised terms back at the same venue recently. Now gets a nicer swing in the weights with that rival, being better treated than when beating him last month. Can set his own fractions here and will be hard to peg back and is still feasibly handicapped off a mark of 84.
