ITV Racing Tips for Today - Friday 20th March

ITV Racing are live from Wolverhampton on Friday 20th March, showing seven live races from the Midlands track with a card full of competitive looking handicaps. We've gone through all the live races for the evening and picked out our tips and selections for the card.

Pleasant Man 6/1

Has started to fall in ratings as of late and hinted at a return to form last time out when coming 3rd from the front over this trip at Lingfield. There doesn’t look to be a great deal of pace on in this race and being nudged down another 1lbs in the handicap, a mark of 69 looks more than workable. Can dictate this from the front from a nice low draw.

American State 9/2

Resurged to form with a narrow victory over C+D last month, just getting the better of Mr Nugget who’s since franked the form winning at Southwell and coming 2nd back here at Wolverhampton since. With the 3rd also coming out and winning since, the form looks to have some serious substance to it and lining up only 2lbs higher in the weights sees this 4 year old with a good chance to knock in a quick double.

Coloane 15/2

Holds a standout piece of form in this field, with his 2nd placed effort behind Towerlands in October looking strong, with that rival going on to win twice more since then. Has run well over C+D before and looks to be at his best on a turning track. Back down to his last placed mark he looks well handicapped if fully tuned up off the back of a 108 days break from the track.

Zryan 8/1

Gets swings in the weights with both City Of Poets and Dosman following 2nd place finishes to both of them this season. Stays further than this trip but there should be a good bit of pace on here to help tee him up from the rear. Still well handicapped off a mark of 89 and will do his best work late on.

Spanish Voice 5/2

Got the better of the now 103 rated Push The Limit in a strong looking Novice event last April and followed that effort up on the all weather to defy a penalty. Well backed when disappointing last time out off the back of a long lay off at Kempton, but drops back in trip and will have sharpened up for that effort. A mark of 85 still looks like it could vastly underestimate his talent.

The Dragon King 7/1

Won well over C+D back in November and nearly backed that up off a revised mark off the back of a short break at Newcastle last month, only going down by a head to a better handicapped rival. Retains a mark of 84 for that effort and a return to this venue will help. Still well enough handicapped to be right in the mix.

Papa Cocktail 12/1 - Has been in solid form through the winter months for connections and won over C+D in January before another creditably 3rd placed finish here last time out. Can be marked up for that effort with the 2nd winning since and the winner placing again subsequently. Goes well here and a mark of 80 isn’t beyond his scope.
