ITV Racing Tips for Today - Saturday 14th February

A bumper Saturday of racing action on ITV sees the broadcaster live from three different courses, with Graded action coming from Ascot, Haydock and Wincanton. With the feature Ascot Chase seeing Jonbon go for another Grade One win, we've gone through all eight live races and picked out our tips and selections for the day's racing.

Mandoui’boy 7/4

Handled deep ground well in his point to point and bumper run, coming 2nd both times. Debuted over hurdles off the back of a long break and got off the mark at the first time of asking for an in form yard. The form of his win has yet to be tested but he’ll come on for the hurdles debut and will cope with the testing underfoot conditions.

Alexi 8/11

Progressive hurdler who won a decent pot at Ascot on seasonal return before winning the Greatwood Hurdle at Cheltenham in impressive style on soft ground. Not disgraced in 3rd off a revised mark at Ascot last time out and looks more than ready to make the jump up to graded level.

The Jukebox Kid 2/1

With all the rain around this will be quite a test over 3 miles and a win over C+D last time out on soft ground looks the piece of form to latch onto here. A well backed favourite when despatching a decent looking field, the 6th has come out since to win and provide some substance. With conditions in his favour, he’ll really put it up to the favourite.

Kabral Du Mathan 8/13

Was knocking on the door in handicap hurdles last season but has taken a big step forward since making the switch to the Skelton yard. Easily winning a handicap over shorter at this venue on seasonal comeback before a demolition job in the Relkeel Hurdle, winning without being asked much of a question. Steps up in trip now but travels kindly and finds well for pressure.

Act Of Authority 15/2

Has found his niche in intermediate trip handicaps and put in a mighty run to be 2nd to Woodhoh in the 2025 Martin Pipe. Has been in the frame on both of his efforts around this trip this season and will enjoy a heavier test of stamina with the deep ground. One lb below his last place mark and usual pilot Lewis Saunders in the saddle he’s primed for a big run.

Ubatuba 11/2

Unbeaten over hurdles for Olly Murphy after being picked up for training under rules off the back of winning a point to point on deep ground. Steps up in grade and distance but sliced through the mud to win at Leicester on deep ground under a penalty last time out and looks one that will relish this kind of test.

Jipcot 11/2

A stiff stamina test over 3 miles will bring out the best in this unexposed 7 year old. A decent enough hurdler, he made an encouraging debut over fences at Ayr before making all the running in good style over a slightly shorter trip at Leicester. Soft ground, 3 miles, he’ll be bounding out near the front and will be hard to reel in off a mark of 133.

Rivers Corner 9/1

Has found good ground leaves him a little outpaced at crucial times and looked more at home on bottomless ground at Wincanton when last seen bolting up over three and a quarter miles by 21 lengths. Has been hit with a 9lbs rise in the weights for that but looks a thorough stayer and gets ideal underfoot conditions again. Can continue his progression in this sphere for the Tizzards.

Jonbon 8/15

Goes over the furthest trip he’ll ever have encountered but as he’s gotten older has been screaming for a stiffer test of stamina and has won over slightly shorter in the Melling Chase. Showed he retains his ability and fight when grinding out success in the Clarence House chase last month. Looks to add another grade one to his stellar CV.
