ITV Racing Tips for Today - Saturday 8th November

The ITV racing cameras are live from three courses on Saturday 8th of November, with action coming from Aintree, Wincanton and Doncaster. The Becher Chase takes centre stage at Aintree over the Grand National Fences, with the Badger Beer Handicap Wincanton's feature. We've gone through all the live races to pick out our tips and selections for the afternoon.

Chasing Fire 9/2

Returned to action this season with a win at Perth and still doesn’t look badly treated off his old form now rated 136 over timber. Defied a slightly lower mark over fences last season, is in form and race fit. Should put in another bold effort under Sean Bowen.

Nickelforce 6/1

Has been running well over the summer and into the Autumn, coming 2nd the last twice he’s been seen. Shuffled down slightly in trip for this race looks like it’ll suit and he’s still well handicapped off a mark of 110. Race fit and handles fast ground.

Apollo One 5/1

Old, trustworthy, reliable. Apollo One is getting on in years but always runs his race and was only narrowly denied last time out against Annaf in a Group three contest. Drops in grade, gets soft ground. He should be right in the mix again to round out another solid campaign.

Laravie 6/1

Hit a strong vein of form over the summer, winning two handicaps and two novice hurdles in good fashion. Was upped to Graded company when last seen and struggled to hold her own in deeper waters against the boys. Drops back into handicap company and can continue her progression from a mark of 121.

Highlands Legacy 9/2

Won nicely at Worcester on seasonal comeback and Chase debut, might just have gotten away lightly with a 6lbs hike in the weights. Can continue progression in this sphere and has fitness on his side.

Blueking D’Oroux 5/6

A talented hurdler who scored graded honours over the smaller obstacles. Made his chasing debut at Newton Abbot recently but failed to reel in a fitter rival. That should leave him ripe for this to gain compensation at the 2nd time of asking over fences.

Gaboriot 10/1

Ran well to be 3rd in this race last year, staying on late behind King Turgeon. Failed to hit the same heights through the rest of the campaign and lines up off a lenient looking mark of 124. 3lbs lower in the weights for last year’s placed effort, he can put in another bold showing in this race.

Rubaud 2/9

Returned to action in winning form at Kempton and now looks to win this race for the third time in a row and is rated 20lbs clear of his nearest rival in what looks a poor renewal of this. Should win with minimum of fuss from the front.

Anna Swan 11/2

Soft ground seems to be the key to this 3 years old, she broke her maiden on soft ground last season and her two best efforts this campaign came on soft ground. Coming 2nd twice in listed fillies’ races over this trip. Should give a strong account again.

Art Of Diplomacy 10/3

Has been in tremendous form over the summer, winning five chases over the summer before unfortunately coming down at Chepstow when looking the winner. Showed he’s still good value for the mark of 137 and gets his ideal going conditions now.

Atherstone Warrior 8/1

Has improved for a step up in trip, winning well at Sandown from off the pace on soft ground before defying a 10lbs hike in the weights to go in again at Newbury 2 weeks ago. Has been shuffled up in the weights again but steps up in trip and can find the necessary improvement. The handicapper might not have gotten to the bottom of him yet.
