ITV Racing Tips for Today - Saturday 7th February

ITV Racing are live from two courses on Saturday 7th February, with graded action coming from Newbury with the Game Spirit and Denman Chases and Warwick hosting the Kingmaker Novices Chase day. We've taken a look at all eight live races on ITV1 for our selections and tips for the afternoons racing.

Sober Glory 6/5

Rightfully heads the market and has been an imposing novice hurdler this campaign, winning two of his three starts over obstacles this season. Beat Kadastral by 12 lengths at Chepstow and that rival has franked the form since. Can be forgiven a blip at Sandown after coming out and winning impressively over C+D last time out. Will be hard to peg back from the front on deep ground.

Hollygrove Cha Cha 7/2

Jubilee Alpha heads the market at a short price but rarely finds off the bridle when asked for her effort and will be vulnerable to a real honest mare for Jamie Snowden. Her gutsy win in a grade two at Sandown last season and a heavy ground win on chase debut this season are top form on slow ground. Reverts back to the smaller obstacles now where she’ll be more comfortable and will get through the tough underfoot conditions best of these.

Kapal Layar 10/1

Looked progressive at the end of last season, winning his last two outings. Sent off favourite for seasonal comeback when needing the run and struck into at Ascot last time out. Can be excused for those two efforts and still looks well treated off a mark of 124. Has untapped potential over staying trips.

Steel Ally 1/1

A really taking novice chaser who looks to have taken his form to a new level since switching to the bigger obstacles. Won handily on chase debut at Carlisle before taking apart a good looking field at Ascot over a slightly longer trip. Oozes class, handles any ground and has a perfect blend of speed and stamina.

Haiti Couleurs 8/11

Couldn’t make the trip over to Ireland for the Irish Gold Cup due to the weather when sitting prominently in the market but will be fully tuned up for a big run here. Ideal underfoot conditions and in sparkling form after winning the Welsh National off top weight. Can take this race in before heading to Cheltenham for the Gold Cup.

Grandeur D’ame 9/2

Has been in decent form and looks much better treated at the weights than some of his rivals in this race. Can be excused for not staying in the Coral Cup but shaped with much more promise at Cheltenham last time out in a grade three. Down in grade, against older horses and well treated off a mark of 132.

Lulamba 8/11

Comes here as a novice against more experience chasers but is growing into a strong prospect over fences, easily winning on chase debut at Exeter by a wide margin in a race that’s worked out well before running riot in a Grade One at Sandown last time out. Looks to take in this last opportunity of experience before heading to Cheltenham for the Arkle.

Tutti Quanti 15/2

Won a competitive renewal of the Gerry Fielden over C+D when last seen, the form working out well with the 2nd and 6th both coming out and winning good races since. Upped 8lbs for the success, connections opted to put him away and keep his mark protected for this race. Lines up off a mark of 138 and top weight but gets perfect conditions and has been targeted for this race.
