ITV Racing Tips for Today - Friday 6th February

ITV Racing's cameras turn their attention to Newcastle for seven live races on ITV4 on Friday 6th February. Featuring a strong selection of handicaps with big fields, competitive looking fields and open looking betting markets, we've gone through all of the lives races on the card and picked out our selections and fancies for the evening.

Anthropologist 6/1

Seems to save his best form for straight tracks and shaped well over C+D off the same mark back in October of last year to be 2nd. Caught the eye at Wolverhampton on stable debut for Michael Herrington and looks well treated.

Harb 11/2

Form of his last two outings coming over course and distance look strong and the form lines to latch onto for this contest. Coming 4th behind Our Absent Friends in December before a better effort to be 3rd behind Digital last month. Not finishing far away in similar contests and has been shaved down 2lbs in the weights for the trouble. Handicapped to play a hand.

Lion’s House 11/2

Falling in grade as his handicap mark continues to tick down, he looked to appreciate the easier assignment off a low looking mark over C+D 6 days ago to be 3rd by only half a length. Holds a good portion of the field on that form and lines up off the same mark. Handicapped to win a race of this nature sooner rather than later.

Rhythm N Hooves 10/1

Has been in consistent form on the all-weather this winter, notching up 3 placed efforts from 4 runs. Went agonisingly close over C+D back in December, just finishing 3rd behind Paddy’s Day, nearly making all of the running. Has had a nice 48 day break after being too keen at Wolverhampton and will prefer getting back on a straight course to put these under pressure from the front end.

Dosman 9/2

Ran well in a better race than this last time out and was a touch unlucky not to finish closer when not getting a clear run late on. Retains the same handicap mark as for that 3rd over course and distance and eases in grade to an easier looking assignment. Will have a good pace to aim at from the rear with Champagne Powder and Golden Pharaoh setting the fractions in front. Will do his best work late on.

North View 9/2

Sprung back to life on stable debut for Stuart Williams in a similar event at Chemlsford last time out, winning well off a mark of 78 and not being too harshly hit with a 4lbs rise in the weights. Improved for the drop in trip and new surroundings and connections put a 5lbs claimer in the plate to negate the rise.

Raatea 9/1

Two of his three career wins have come at this venue and he was last seen coming 2nd here by only a neck two weeks ago. Shuffled up in the weights by only 1lbs, he sits only 1lbs higher than for his last C+D winning effort and gets winning pilot Oisin McSweeney back in the saddle.
