The first race of the day on day three of the Boodles meeting is the Class 2 Handicap over 7 1/2 furlongs and Revich for Richard Spencer looks a very interesting runner.

The five year old has been a very consistent horse over the years, at Chester especially being a frequent course and distance winner at this track.

In August 2020 he landed back to back races on the Roodee off marks of 85 and 91, but away from Chester struggled at the back end of last year when up in the handicap.

Back this season, he made his seasonal debut at Doncaster in the Lincoln Handicap and finished a fair sixth and then last time out ran another cracker to finish fourth in the Spring Cup Handicap.

He seems to be in fine form heading into this event and only 4lb higher than his last mark at the track makes him a very exciting selection.

One of the best events on the card is the Group Two Huxley Stakes and the Aidan O'Brien raider Armory could be a class above the field if running to his previous Group One form.

As a two year old the son of Galileo landed three races on the bounce including the Group Two Futurity Stakes but when put into Group One company has struggled.

Last term the colt finished fourth in the Irish 2000 Guineas on debut and was fourth again when stepped up in trip for the Tattersalls Gold Cup.

He got back to winning ways at The Curragh over 1m2f in a Group Three event next time out, and over the same course and distance out ran his odds of 66/1 in the Irish Champion Stakes to finish third behind Ghaiyyath and Magical.

The colt was last seen being sent down under for the Group One Cox Plate where he was narrowly second to ex stablemate Sir Dragonet.

Armory is a very progressive animal that has proved he can be versatile on quick and slow ground and if not needing the run has a big chance.

The feature event of the three days is the Chester Cup over the staying trip of 2m2 1/2f and at a big price near the bottom of the weights, Glencadam Glory could be a big each way player.

The Tim Easterby trained son of Nathaniel has been out of form of late, hence the big price but if bouncing back to form off his current mark he could be dangerous.

Last season his best run came at York in the Ebor Handicap when a close second behind Fujaira Prince, who was a group horse in a handicap.

After that his mark got raised and he struggled in staying handicaps for the rest of the term, but after some lesser runs he is now back to a respectable number.

He made his seasonal reappearance at Musselburgh and may have just needed the run, but now 4lb lower than his second in the Ebor, getting back onto softish ground, he could out run his odds.

Next up is the Boodles Conditions Stakes over five furlongs and King's Lynn for Andrew Balding and the Queen looks to be the most progressive horse in the field.

The four year old made two starts as a juvenile finishing second on debut and then landed a big fielded event at Doncaster, with the form of the race working out really well.

As a three year old he stayed in similar form finishing third on debut behind the smart Starman for Ed Walker, but after that he was sent to Ayr for the Silver Cup and did not run his race.

He bounced back to form on his final run of last term when a narrow second in a handicap at Doncaster.

The son of Cable Bay returned in April for his seasonal debut this term and blew away the cobwebs with a fair third at Newbury over 5f, with the form of the race working out well.

He is unexposed at this trip and should be a lot better for his first run, big chance.

The Class 2 1m 2 1/2f Handicap sees some exposed horses take to post and at a decent price Lawn Ranger could outrun his odds, being very fond of this track.

The six year old has been hit and miss with his form of late, but in August scored over course and distance off a mark of 90.

Up 2lb next time out he was a narrow second at the track again, being beat a short head by his rival in this event Restorer.

Having had a few runs on the all weather at the back end of 2020, he was given a break and returned for his seasonal debut at Kempton in March when a fair third behind the smart Al Zaraqaan.

Being good around this track on the same mark as his last win over C&D, makes him very interesting at an each way price.

The alternative race to the Chester Cup on Friday is the Chester Place over the same trip and the Irish raider Grandmaster Flash for Joseph O'Brien looks primed for a big run.

Although having a poor turf record, his lowly mark makes him very attractive at an each way price, having been in superb form on the all weather.

The son of Australia is chasing a hat-trick in this event having won two nice events at Dundalk this year, the first over two miles and last time out over 1m4f.

He has seriously improved for the addition of headgear this term and today running off 5lb lower than his all weather mark gives him a chance.

The final event on the card is the Class 4 Apprentice Handicap over 1m4f and even though Elham Valley is an interesting runner back on the flat, Potenza for trainer Harry Eustace gets the nod.

The five year old is another who is dropping back to the flat having been fairly consistent over hurdles at Huntingdon on two occasions.

Before those runs he ran well at Doncaster over 1m2f when finishing second and on his latest flat run on the all weather at Lingfield he was a fair third in a tough field.

Getting back to the turf is a bonus and currently on a mark of 77 makes him a player especially if getting soft ground where his record is good.
