Who To Follow At York On Friday - 23/07/21

Horse To Follow - International Girl

The final event of the afternoon is the five furlong Class 4 Handicap and having started the day with Richard Fahey we are ending the day with his horse International Girl.

The three year old filly was seen once as a juvenile when winning over 5f on good ground and Musselburgh and after that she was put away for this season.

Not liking the soft ground on seasonal debut, she has since been seen finishing a neck second on quick ground at Redcar and backed that up last time out over course and distance at York when a good third in a nice handicap.

She runs off only 1lb higher and with this handler having a superb record in sprint events at the track she is worth staying with.

Trainer To Follow - Richard Fahey

Richard Fahey is a trainer to fear in the north of England especially at York with him having bundles of winners every season on the Knavesmire.

He has some nice chances on Friday, with his best coming from State Patrol in the first event of the day, with the handler landing the event back in 2018.

Another big chance for the yard comes in the lucky last with International Girl, who looks a very progressive type that is weighted to go well.

Fahey has managed 132 winners and 338 places over last five years with his runners at the track and with that has picked up prize money to the tune of £2,692,689.

Jockey To Follow - Ella McCain

Ella McCainn is not a jockey that many punters will be familiar with but the female jockey has risen through the ranks of late and is having a fine season.

On Friday she has some nice chances to add to her growing tally, starting with State Patrol in the first race of the day for Richard Fahey.

One of her best chances of the day is the Tim Easterby trained Obee Jo in the big fielded Class 4 Handicap, with her winning on him last time out.

McCain can't stay out of the winners enclosure at the moment, currently running at 27% strike rate having had five winners from her last 17 rides.
