Tindrum is the rank outsider in the opener at Sandown however we feel he may run a big race despite his recent form figures.

This son of Mukhadram is 1/1 over C&D and that victory came off the exact same mark as today.

He may lack the potential of a couple of these but he is clearly weighted to strike and shouldn’t be ruled out at a massive price.

Ben Curtis rides.

Ebro River was a big eye-catcher on debut at Newmarket so it was no surprise to see him go in second time up at Doncaster and we feel he is a colt worth following over the next few months.

His pedigree suggests he will be a better horse on a softer surface and he seemingly enjoyed it last time out travelling strongly through the race before picking up smartly.

He was 7l ahead of the third that day so the form looks strong and he hasn’t finished progressing.

Ocean Wind had the benefit of a run when finishing 1/2l ahead of Nayef Road at Ascot so there is reason to believe the form could be reversed however he is the least-exposed of the pair and we believe he will confirm that running.

Roger Teal’s star-stayer gave a useful type bundles of weight when winning on soft ground at Ascot in October so today’s conditions should prove no issue.

Should take this en-route to the Gold Cup.

Sangarius heads the betting in the feature race of the day and he is taken to make it five victories in eight career starts.

His back-to-back wind surgeries suggests this 5-y-o isn’t the easiest to train but his form outlines how good he really is and his issues have resulted in him being very lightly-raced for his age which means there should be plenty of horse left.

He bit off more than he could chew with Armory on return at Chester but he can be expected to improve for that effort and he has form on soft ground.

We are hoping a return to Sandown can trigger improvement for top weight History Writer.

This seasoned-handicapper has mixed it in some useful races so he is definitely classy enough to cope with 9-7 if he is on a going day and the booking of William Buick suggests connections mean business.

He has a liking for soft ground and the two obvious pace angles should give him a perfect toe into the race.

This 3-y-o gelding was progressive over 7f for Sir Michael Stoute with his close finish behind Bay Bridge now reading exceptionally well and he seems to have continued on the up since switching to his new yard.

He was well backed when running below par on return at Wolves which we are happy to excuse and he then backed that up with an impressive performance in a tight handicap at Newmarket.

His best effort came at the finish that day so the switch to 1m on softer ground should see him take another step forward and the handicapper has been kind raising him just 7lb.

Hollie Doyle rides.
