Newmarket Sunday Preview

With us having no fancies in the first race of the day on Sunday we move on to the Listed Buckhounds Stakes over 1 mile 4 furlongs and this contest is full of some smart horses.

The one we like the look of is First In Line for John Gosden and Frankie Dettori and this four year old showed plenty of ability as a three year old and we are hoping he can improve on that this term.

He raced six times last year and only finished out the top two once, going on to win in some decent Class 2 events whilst also placing behind Ebor fancy Hamish at York which looks very good form.

The Listed Pretty Polly Stakes is a race that throws out superstars and Run Wild for John Gosden can land a quick-fire double for us.

The filly was in the frame on all her starts last term winning at Kempton and then stepping up to better races and placing in a Group Three at Deauville.

Her final start to date saw her third of seven over a mile at Newmarket where Born With Pride landed the Listed Montrose Fillies' Stakes and now stepping up in trip she should improve.

The second Classic of the season sees the Fillies fly down the Rowley Mile for the 1000 Guineas and we have an each way and win selection.

Our Win pick is the Aidan O'Brien trained Love who is the only one of the Irishman's brigade to be left in the contest which means she is special.

This daughter of Galileo rates a similar type to last year's winner. Just like Hermosa, Love had plenty of runs as a 2-y-o, picking up valuable experience to enable her to excel at the classic age.

If she can take a similar step forward then she looks to have brilliant chance in this. The Bet365 Fillies' Mile is a very strong piece of form so with Powerful Breeze omitted Quadrilateral and Love look set to battle it out.

A horse at a bigger price is the Charlie Appleby trained Summer Romance who will be looking to land the Guineas double for the trainer with a strong chance on Saturday with Pinatubo.

This filly looked very good when powering home over six furlongs at Newmarket on just her second start and on now back at the track on her first start over a mile she could be a dark horse.

Overall her form is very strong and at 20/1 and above, she looks a very nice each way angle for the race, enjoying the conditions.

Andrew Balding is a man in fine form at the moment which has seen him gain a 35.71% strike rate and in this one he fields Bell Rock.

Oisin Murphy gets the ride and he is also in some decent form with nice winners at Newmarket all ready and this four year old looks very handy.

Although being off the track in sometime he has ran in Listed and Group One company and if using those experiences should be better than these.

We are siding with Godolphin again with the Charlie Appleby team looking to have a good day on Sunday and Eastern World should take all the beating in this.

The son of Dubawi finished a bright second on debut at Kempton behind a useful runner in Starcat who ran in the 2000 Guineas on Saturday.

This youngster holds an Irish Derby entry and should stay further than this mile and looks a very promising recruit for the yard.

Another race and another Godolphin fancy for us with the owners having such a strong team of British runners this season and Native Tribe looks to have a good chance.

The three year old has raced twice in his short career finishing second at Newbury on debut before showing pure class to put a decent field away at Sandown.

That performance was very eye-catching and having shown he can race on both softish and good ground he will be versatile enough to adapt to the ever changing conditions.

The final selection of the afternoon on the Rowley Mile comes in the Class 3 handicap and Top Breeze for Richard Hughes looks an exciting runner.

Ryan Moore takes the ride which is a very eye-catching jockey booking and on his sole run this season he got off the mark on the all weather.

Having already had a run this term means he should be fitter than most the field and that could play a big part.
