ITV Saturday Preview This Weekend

14:20 Newmarket - The Godolphin Flying Start Zetland Stakes

The Group Three Zetland Stakes over 1 mile 2 furlongs shows off some bright youngsters that might be better off next year but for the time being still hold plenty of potential.

O'Brien sends his two year old Mythical into this contest and on soft ground form alone he looks the one to beat winning last time out at Gowran in tough conditions.

This son of Camelot could turn out to be anything next season but should capitalise on his last run having conditions to suit and a strong pedigree.

14:40 York - The Coral.Co.Uk Rockingham Stakes

Lampang for trainer Tim Easterby certainly looks the horse to beat in the Listed Rockingham Stakes over six furlongs with the next best to the favourite being a 7/1 shot.

The King Power owned colt has won both his starts to date in great fashion at Ripon and Carlisle with his latest coming on good to soft ground meaning he should handle the cut in the turf.

Silvestre de Sousa is back in the saddle which is always a bonus but overall this colt looks a very interesting runner for next season and should prevail here.

14:55 Newmarket - The Dubai Autumn Stakes

Molatham for Roger Varian goes for us in the Group Three Autumn Stakes and if handling the soft ground in this mile contests he looks the one to beat.

This two year old has raced three times during his short career starting at Ascot narrowly being denied by Richard Hannon's Mums Tipple on the line.

He then went to York during the Ebor meeting in an expensive maiden and saw off strong competition to lad the contest.

Last time out was his toughest to date at the St Leger meeting at Doncaster in the Listed Flying Scotsman Stakes and he saw off a decent field of five including second favourite for the Dewhurst in Wichita.

Molatham looks a smart juvenile that if handling his first time in soft conditions should not be beat.

15:15 York - The Download The Coral App Handicap Stakes

The Class 2 Handicap sees a field with a lot of ex group race winners in it that are dropping down to this company and one of them is the Mark Johnston trained Dark Vision.

This three year old has been very frustrating to back during this seasons campaign having won the Group Two Vintage Stakes as a juvenile.

However, last time out was a big step in the right direction from how he has been running this season when a staying on sixth in the Cambridgeshire Stakes at Newmarket and if handling the step up in trip could be useful again.

15:30 - The Darley Dewhurst Stakes

The feature race of the Saturday at Newmarket is the Darley Dewhurst Stakes over seven furlongs that sees the best juveniles in this division battle it out for Group One glory on the Rowley Mile.

The juvenile to beat in the event is Pinatubo for Charlie Appleby who has been the stand out seven furlong two year old of the season being unbeaten in all five of his starts to date.

The two year old last time out gave the performance of his career landing his first Group One of his career in the National Stakes at the Curragh beating a superb field of youngsters by close to 10 lengths, which saw the colt get a rating of 128 two pounds higher than the might Frankel at that age.

This will be the Godolphin superstars final run of the season before being put away for a big three year old campaign and it would take something special to see him get beat.

15:50 York - The Coral Sprint Trophy Handicap Stakes

The Sprint Trophy Handicap over six furlongs sees over 20 runners head to post and with that in mind we have two selections for the contest.

The first horse is the Kevin Ryan trained Hey Jonesy who revels in soft ground and that may be the reason for his poor runs recently on quicker ground.

The gelding is a course and distance winner that has no headgear today and off this current mark looks like a huge player for a trainer that has landed some nice sprint contests this season.

The other runner from a bigger priced angle is the David Barron trained Gunmetal who ran a stormer at Ripon last time out and has superb track form which could see him involved.

16:10 Newmarket - The Dubai Cesarewitch Stakes (Hertitage Handicap)

Another feature on the Newmarket card is the Cesarewitch Handicap over 2 miles 2 furlongs and with over 30 horses heading to post we have two selections.

The first is the last horse to get into the final field of runners and Sir Mark Prescott's Land Of Oz has a huge chance coming into the handicap contest in great form.

This three year old has won six out of his eight handicap events, the latest came over course and distance in the Cesarewitch trial and although drawn wide looks a big contender in the weights.

The other selection at a bigger price is the Ian Williams trained five year old has ran to a credible level in the majority of his races this season, especially getting the hang of things in his last two contests.

Soft ground or good to soft conditions play to the strengths of the horse who has put in his best performances this season when getting this type of ground.

At Royal Ascot in testing conditions he finished a smart third in the 2 mile 4f Ascot Handicap and then recently has won his last two races in very soft ground over in France and soft conditions at Haydock.

With the way the weather forecast is supposed to be going and how the Rowley Mile sits at the moment everything is right for Time To Study to give a bold showing.
