Who To Follow At Sandown On Saturday - 05/12/20

Horse To Follow - Mister Coffey

The final runner of the day at Sandown brings our horse to follow with the Nicky Henderson trained Mister Coffey looking the horse to beat in the handicap hurdle.

The five year old gelding was thought very highly of last term having previously won a bumper and then sent over hurdles and looking a potential runner in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle.

In December 2019 he won a 17 runner introductory hurdle at Newbury beating smart horses like On To Victory and Shakem Up'Arry.

He was then sent to Huntingdon where it looked like he would have another routine win but instead did not run to form and finished second in a weak event.

He was put away for the season after that, but this term has come back and looks to have matured massively, winning on seasonal debut over course and distance at Sandown in a handicap hurdle.

Although he has gone up 10lb for that win he still looks on a superb mark and if fulfilling his potential he should beat this field with ease.

Trainer To Follow - Venetia Williams

Venentia Williams is a trainer that really comes into her own before Christmas having her most winners throughout the season during this period.

Again, this term she has followed that trend and over the last two weeks has been a frequent handler in the winners enclosure with eight winners from 26 runners, which sees her pose a 30.77% strike rate.

On Saturday she will be looking to extend her fine run of form and she has some standout chances to do so with Frenchy Du Large in the third race of the day and in the staying handicap chase has Cloudy Glen who looks her best chance of the day.

Jockey To Follow - Nico De Boinville

Nico De Boinville has had a decent season so far with Nicky Henderson starting to really ramp up the amount of winners he is having and the rider sitting on the majority of them.

The pair have some nice chances on Saturday at a track they know very well with the likes of Paros, Grand Mogul, Altior and Mister Coffey.

De Boinville could end up with a huge amount of winners at the meeting and that will help extend his current superb record over the last 14 day which sees him running at a 20.69% strike rate after having six winners from 29 rides.
