One of the big races of the day on Thursday is the Group Two Ribblesdale Stakes over 1m4f and Sea Silk Road for William Haggas could be tough to beat.

The three year old daughter of Sea The Stars was a 190,000gns purchase that has been seen three times to date, once as a juvenile when needing the run and then twice this season when winning on both occasions.

Learning a lot for her debut run, she made her seasonal reappearance in May at Nottingham over 8.5f at Nottingham when landing a 14 runner maiden in very taking style.

She was then sent to Goodwood last time out up in class to Listed company and distance to 10f and wanting every yard of the trip saw off the talented Eternal Pearl for Godolphin.

The filly was pulling out more at the line and that makes us think the Ribblesdale trip will massively suit.

Trainer To Follow - Aidan O'Brien

The Ballydoyle maestro Aidan O'Brien has had a slow start to Royal Ascot so far but on Thursday could see everything change with some very smart runners.

In the opener he fields his unbeaten relation to Battaash in the Group Two Norfolk Stakes and then in the King George V Stakes sees Newfoundland look to take the spoils.

History goes for the yard in the Group Two Ribblesdale Stakes and then in the Gold Cup he fields the favourite Kyprios who has been primed for this race all year long.

In the penultimate race he fields Howth who will be looking to cause an upset.

Jockey To Follow - Tom Marquand

Tom Marquand could have a special day on Thursday at Royal Ascot with a handful of big chances according to the betting markets.

In the King George V Stakes he sits on Mandobi for William Haggas who stepped up to 12f last time out and was an emphatic winner and now holds every chance.

He gets the mount on the favourite in the Ribblesdale Stakes with Sea Silk Road looking to land a hat-trick of races and then in the Britannia Stakes he sits on Yonafis to land a four timer.

Maksud will be looking to cause an upset in the Hampton Court Stakes and then in the finale he sits on the favourite again with Montassib looking to make it four in a row.
