One of the feature events on the card is the Listed Doncaster Mile Stakes and Chindit looks to be one of the bankers of the days for favourite backers.

Richard Hannon’s colt looks a class above this field and is priced accordingly by the bookmakers to go and do the business.

A smart juvenile winning all three of his first races, including the Group Two Champagne Stakes over 7f at Doncaster on good ground.

The soft ground went against him in his last run as a two year old when well beaten in the G1 Dewhurst behind St Mark’s Basilica.

Returning as a three year old he landed the Greenham Stakes on debut at Newbury over 7f and then finished a good fifth in the Group One 2000 Guineas.

He was a fair fifth in the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot behind similar horses and again showing he wasn’t quite a Group One miler he was fifth of nine in the Prix Jacques Le Marois.

Rounding off last season with a good fourth in the G2 Celebration Mile at Goodwood and then a better third back at Newmarket in another G2, he is simply a class above this field at Listed level and looks a nice starting point for his season.

Trainer To Follow - Andrew Balding

Andrew Balding went extremely close last season in his bid to be Britain's flat champion trainer and will be looking to kickstart his campaign as early as possible this season.

His first runner of the afternoon comes in the Spring Mile Handicap with May Night who has been running well on the all weather and will now look to convert that form to turf.

In the Lincoln Handicap he fields Notre Belle Bete, who is 2/2 for the yard since coming over from Ireland and is looking to land a hat-trick in the expensive handicap.

Finally in the Maiden Stakes he gives Groundbreaker a chance to break his maiden tag having gone close when last seen at Kempton.

Balding heads into the meeting posing a strike rate of 21% for the last two weeks, landing four winners from his 19 runners.

Jockey To Follow - Rossa Ryan

Rossa Ryan is a young flat jockey that is rising through the ranks and on Saturday at Doncaster he has a huge chance to land some winners.

His first big chance of the afternoon comes on newcomer Persian Force, is a beautifully bred son of Mehmas that cost €225,000 as a yearling.

The youngsters biggest chance of the day comes in the Listed Doncaster Mile Stakes where he rides Group Two winner Chindit who is a group horse in a handicap.

In the Maiden Stakes he rides another newcomer in Surrey Knight for Charlie Fellowes he looks a nice son of Le Havre.

Rossa heads into the weekend sporting a 36% strike rate for the last two weeks managing five winners from his last 14 rides.
