Who To Follow At Ascot On Saturday - 20/01/21

Horse To Follow - Newtide

A fine race over fences on Saturday sees the Limited Handicap Swinley Chase over three miles and in a field that offers huge value, we have gone for the double figured price of Newtide.

The Kim Bailey yard are in remarkable form of late having four winners from his last 10 runners over the last two weeks which sees him pose a 40% win rate.

The eight year old gelding ran four times over fences last term, winning his first three events in good style and then heading to the Cheltenham festival and falling short in the National Hunt Chase.

Having his first run since March he made his seasonal debut in a Handicap Chase at Haydock finishing a nice third over staying trip behind the smart Snow Leopardess.

He will definitely improve for that run and off a workable mark can outrun his odds.

Trainer To Follow - Oliver Sherwood

Trainer Oliver Sherwood has been quiet since the turn of the year not having that many runners, but on Saturday at Ascot he has some live chances.

The handler of Many Clouds back in the days sees his best chance come in the Grade Two Reynoldstown Chase with the favourite Severano looking to prove he stays the three miles.

Another favourite for the handler on the day is Jersey Lady in the lucky last, who will be looking to bounce back to her debut form from Ludlow.

Sherwood has only had one runner at the track this season and will be looking to get off the mark at the Berkshire track.

Jockey To Follow - Jonjo O'Neill Jnr

Jonjo O'Neill Jnr is one of the most talented young riders in the sport at the moment having not plied his trade for long but still showing how could he can be in most of his races.

On Saturday at Ascot he has a handful of smart rides that should see him in the winners enclosure, starting with Arrivederci in the Class 2 Handicap Hurdle for his father.

Again for his dad in the race before that he has a big chance on board Cobolobo on the Swinley Chase with the consistent gelding weighted to go well.

The rider has been in sterling form over the last two weeks which has seen him land three out of his last 17 races which sees him pose a 17.65% win rate.
