Throwback Race Of The Day For Tuesday - 18/01/22

First Flow

Today we are taking a look back at last year's renewal of the Grade One Clarence House Chase with the Ascot feature set to take place this weekend.

Last year's race was special for many reasons, but the main one being it saw Kim Bailey land his first Grade One event for 26 years with First Flow.

The now 10 year old has been a superb horse for the yard over the years, progressing from handicaps to being a Grade One winner.

In Febraury 2020, he landed a four runner event and then went on to land six races in a row, ending in taking the Clarence House Chase by seven lengths from the Champion Chase winner Politologue.

Under a superb front running ride by David Bass he put too much of a lead between him and the field and with First Flow kept galloping all the way to the line.

Enjoy!
