The feature race of the weekend is the 2022 renewal of the Group One Irish Oaks from the Curragh and ahead of the big race on Saturday we have taken a look back at Enable's victory in 2017.
A career record of 15 wins from 19 runs including 11 Group 1 victories, Enable was comfortably been the face of horse racing in her time on the track and unfortunately she bowed out after an unsuccessful attempt at achieving greatness in the Arc at Longchamp in 2020.
Her career kicked off with an impressive three length victory at Newcastle in November of 2016 but she then suffered one of four career defeats when returning at Newbury in April of 2017. This however was when her luck changed.
She then won 12 races on the bounce including 10 Group 1s with victories in the Epsom Oaks, Arc, Breeders Cup and the Irish Oaks all standing out.
Age caught up with her with just two wins coming from her last five runs and her final swan song coming in this years Arc on ground which could only be described as bottomless.
One of her biggest margins of victory came in the Irish Oaks when romping home and demolishing a smart field at the Curragh and today we are taking a look back at it.
