Throwback Race Of The Day 01/04/19

Cue Card

Cue Card

We are continuing with our ever growing segment of throwback race of the day and after looking through Sea Of Class's win at the Curragh yesterday and today we move back to the national hunt scene.

The year was 2015 and in one of the best fields the King George VI Chase at Kempton has seen for a while it produced the best finished to the race ever witnessed.

Nine animals went to post but the contest boiled down to just two runners, the Irish raider for Willie Mullins, Vautour who sadly passed away just four months after the race, went into battle with the best of the British's Cue Card.

Coming up to the final fence it was those two left in sole isolation with the Irish runner looking the most likely horse to take the contest but what happened up the run in was breath taking.

Enjoy!
