Three Standout Performances - 13/11/2018

13:20 - Down The Highway

Down The Highway started to repay his connections back his expensive fee by winning the National Hunt EBF Novices' Hurdle.

He won well in an Irish maiden point in the mud back in February, and appeared to relish the conditions best today, turning over a short price favourite in Mercy Mercy Me.

The 5yo was always prominent, led after 3 out, driven clear last, and won readily for Emma Lavelle and Aidan Coleman.

14:10 - Mystic Sky

Mystic Sky took full honours in the Jo Andrews Belated Birthday Wishes Michaelmas Handicap Hurdle at Huntingdon this afternoon.

This Lucy Wadham-trained 7yo had shown promise in recent listed events, and she put that to good use against some useful rivals.

She raced wide tracking the early leaders, led approaching 3 out, soon went 3 lengths clear next, rider dropped rein briefly flat, but was driven out to win.

14:40 - By The Boardwalk

By The Boardwalk took advantage of a reduced mark to win the George Terry Evelyn Veterans' Handicap Chase.

Did have quite a bit to prove before-hand, having recently had a wind operation.

However, it was an excellent ride from David Bass. Buying his time on the 10yo, he held up his mount in rear, passing rivals into 3rd three out, driven to chase leader last, stayed on strongly to lead towards finish, snatching the victory from Mercers Court - who had won 3 of his last four outings.
