Pembrokeshire based trainer Peter Bowen goes from one side of the country to the other today as he sends just the one runner on the 600 mile round trip to Fakenham.
A French recruit back in the summer of 2019 for Charlie Longsdon, the full brother to the impressive Hammersly Lake has failed to live up to the expectations his breeding suggested.
After picking up no victories for Longsdon, a change of scenery was needed however a change of yard failed to deliver a change of luck with the seven year old pulled up on debut for Peter Bowen.
However, he's now going off 74, his lowest career mark to date, and he will be looking to improve from his fourth last time out and get off the mark here.
Bowen sending just him on the long journey suggests that he more than fancies his chances today.
