One Horse, Jockey And Trainer To Follow At Sha Tin

Horse To Follow - King's Shield

King's Shield may be a familiar name to some of you with him being an ex runner for the master John Gosden but is now handled by Frankie Lor in Hong Kong.

The five year old gelding was thought of highly before his switch over to Asia finishing fifth in the Group One St James's Palace Stakes back in 2018.

That was his last race in England and he has since been a frequent entry at Sha Tin, giving his best over this course and distance when finishing a bold second three starts ago.

Zac Purton takes the ride today for the first time and that is a huge plus.

Trainer To Follow - Frankie Lor

Frankie Lor is a trainer that may not be very well known in Britain but is certainly one to follow in Hong Kong and on Wednesday has some very special runners.

He is set to field five runners at Sha Tin and three of them are currently favourites giving him a very strong chance of landing a winner.

During his training career Lor has not been shy of having winners at the track with 124 wins and 190 places from just over 900 runners and he will be looking to add to that.

Jockey To Follow - Zac Purton

Finally, it may look the safe bet of the afternoon but there is no other place to look in Hong Kong at the moment when searching for a top jockey.

Australian rider Zac Purton has been in the form of his life this season and is currently neck and neck with Joao Moreira for the jockeys title.

Fortunately for Purton, Moreira is suspended on Wednesday giving him the perfect opportunity to sneak ahead and also heading into the meeting off the back of a four timer should see him ride with confidence.
