Alan Brown-trained Urban Road holds leading claims at Newcastle today.

The six-year-old has won five from 35 attempts on the all-weather, and tends to go well over this course and distance.

Was a winner over a mile and two at Newcastle in December, and was second on his latest effort at the track over the same trip when beaten by a length by Midnight Lion. Unlikely to be that far away.

Kaiya Foster is booked to take the ride on Pockley for trainer Linda Perratt at Newcastle today. The seven-year-old has won six from 33 attempts on the all-weather, but is on a 23-race losing sequence.

However, it is worth noting that all six of the selection's wins have come at Newcastle, and she ran creditably in defeat when fourth over five furlongs on New Year's Day.

Milners Gamble is the runner from the Brian Ellison yard in the 17:45 today, and Harry Russell is booked to take the ride.

The four-year-old has won once from 12 starts under rules, but is yet to win in four efforts on the all-weather.

However, he was a close third behind Cusack over course and distance last week, and is now 4lb better off with his rival. Should be capable of reversing that form.

Alreet Cha looks to be an interesting outsider for the Craig Lidster yard in the 19:15 today.

Shane Gray is booked to take the ride on the four-year-old filly, who has won once from eleven attempts on the all-weather.

Things didn't go to plan over course and distance at the start of the month when finishing eighth of ten, but she was a close second behind Red Maids with a career-best effort last month. If at that level, she provides value in the market today.
