ITV Racing is live from Ascot, Newmarket and Redcar on Saturday for some quality group and handicap action from the three courses. The feature of the Sun Chariot Stakes from Newmarket for the 1 mile fillies and mares takes centre stage.
We've gone trough all the live races on the afternoon on ITV1 to pick out our tips and selections for the day.
Bright Thunder 2/1
She’s become a bit frustrating to follow this season but has been highly consistent for connections in decent group races for fillies recently. Finishing 3rd, 5th and 7th.
Drops slightly in grade now and gets on a quicker surface which should suit.
Travels powerfully and has just been collared late on. Should run her race again and get in the mix.
Blessed Star 9/2
Has run well in some decent races this season and still looks fairly treated off a mark of 78 carrying a feather weight of 8st2.
Does line up still a maiden and lacked the pace to get involved in a maiden race over a mile last time out but back in the handicap ranks now and up to 10 furlongs with a stiff finish might just bring out the best in her.
Can prove better than a mark of 78 and should be doing her best work late on.
Kerdos 15/2
Looks a touch overpriced at a double figure odds considering on his three trips to Ascot he’s outrun big odds each time.
Three trips to Royal Ascot have seen him come 5th in the King’s Stand twice and 2nd in the Palace Of Holyroodhouse handicap. The course seems to suit him and he drops down to listed company now.
Can get in the mix now down in grade at a bigger price.
Jel Pepper 11/2
It’s hard not to spot the big jockey booking on Colin Keane onboard Jel Pepper for the October Auction Stakes after the gelding was well backed at Doncaster before not getting a run and finishing 7th.
He had some smart form in the books prior to his most recent run, coming 3rd in the July Stakes behind Zavateri who since won the Goffs Vincent O'Brien National Stakes at the Curragh.
This step up in trip to 7 furlongs might just unlock some improvement and the tongue tie goes on to help his finishing effort. 18/1 could look big come Saturday afternoon.
Hamish 11/8
Isn’t getting any younger at the grand old age of 9 but has showed the fire still burns this season, winning both of his starts this season.
Given a three week break since another gritty win at Chester, this could well be the swan song for one of Haggas’ great servants over the years.
He looks well treated against Al Qareem and has the beating of Military Academy. Should make it a perfect 3-3 for the campaign on what could be his last outing.
Cinderella’s Dream 5/2
Holds Fallen Angel on form after getting the better of that rival to be 2nd at Royal Ascot when giving away 3lbs and should confirm that form now off level weights.
Won The Falmouth Stakes in good fashion on the July course before disappointing slightly with a trip to France, seemingly not seeing out 10 furlongs.
Back on home soil, down to a mile, Cinderella’s Dream is the one to beat for the Boys in Blue.
Apollo One 9/2
A veteran sprinter for the Charalambous & Clutterbuck stable, Apollo One took this race in good style last year off a close defeat in the Portland Handicap and looks to follow the same path this year coming 2nd in the Doncaster handicap three weeks ago.
Still in fine form this campaign despite being a 7 year old, his handicap mark looks too stiff for him to be winning in those ranks now but a return to this venue and trip will bring out the best in him again.
7/1 looks a more than fair price and he’ll likely be bang there again.
