Breege

J: Jason Hart
T: John Quinn
N/A
Age: 2
Weight: 9-2
OR: 92
Days: 57

An impressive debut win over 5.5 furlongs at Wetherby saw Breege break her maiden in some style. Despite showing signs of greenness when asked for an effort and drifting left, Breege handily made up ground and scored by an impressive 5.5 lengths. Pulling clear of an odds on favourite easily who’s since won.

Sent for a small field conditions race off the back of that, odds of 4/9 suggested it would be an easy race for her to back up in but the filly only managed 2nd and was well beaten by Rousing Encore. The winner slipping the field at the start and never being reeled back in.

A lot more will be needed here and a return to a bigger field with a stronger pace could help.

Ross Coakley

Cuban Mistress

J: Ross Coakley
T: Rod Millman
N/A
Age: 2
Weight: 9-2
OR: 90
Days: 22

Rod Millman’s charge has already have five career outings. Making her debut in a conditions race for fillies back in May, she looked to need the run for experience before scoring a novice race over the minimum trip by a neck.

Next seen giving 6lbs away to Lezoo in a novice race at Bath she wasn’t disgraced to be 2nd behind the winner and market leader here when giving weight away.

Since kept at the minimum trip, she’s run well in defeat in a conditions race and a listed race. Both times shaping like she was a little outpaced and running on well. Moving up in trip should unlock some improvement and her form line with Lezoo gives her a decent chance. Not without place hopes.

Rossa Ryan

Omniqueen

J: Rossa Ryan
T: David Loughnane

Age: 2
Weight: 9-2
OR: N/A
Days: 38

After scoring in maiden company at Ascot at the beginning of May, Omniqueen was then pitched into the deep end last time out when sent for the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot.

She showed plenty of promise in her maiden and skipped clear of an average field smartly enough, but a try in deeper waters last time out saw her have a torrid time. Not disgraced in 12th place of the 21 runners, she had a nightmare trip. Squeezed for room early, she stumbled and fell back into last place. She rallied late on and picked off rivals with some late headway without ever really looking dangerous.

It’s a hard piece of form to assess as she may just have been passing horses who failed to lie up with the pace. However this move up in trip looks a positive and connections clearly think a lot of her after pitching her into the Queen Mary.

Palm Lily

J: Rob Hornby
T: Ralph Beckett
N/A
Age: 2
Weight: 9-2
OR: N/A
Days: 52

Debuting at the start of last month for Ralph Beckett, Palm Lily was well backed by punters and justified the price tag to score smartly at Kempton.

Sitting quite handy throughout, it didn’t take much urging from Rob Hornby for Palm Lily to assert and leave her rivals behind impressively.

As smartly as she managed to win, the form hasn’t stacked up since with the 2nd and 4th being beaten in low level races subsequently. She’ll need to improve to have a say at this stronger level.

Minnetonka

J: Ryan Moore
T: Richard Hannon
N/A
Age: 2
Weight: 9-2
OR: 88
Days: 28

After debuting over 6 furlongs at Salisbury in a novice race, Minnetonka looked absolutely lethal and bound clear from the front to score by an eye-watering 7 lengths.

With that impressive victory in the books she was sent for a listed race at Newmarket only two weeks later but failed to justify favouritism. This time held up, she failed to really get involved in proceedings and was soundly beaten 4.5 lengths by Lezoo.

A return to more aggressive tactics could see her get closer to that rival here and the in form Ryan Moore takes over in the saddle.

Kinta

J: William Buick
T: George Boughey
N/A
Age: 2
Weight: 9-2
OR: 90
Days: 17

George Boughey showed last season how prolific he could be with his juveniles and he’s shown his training ability to have the unbeaten Kinta line up here.

A debut on the artificial surface at Lingfield last month saw the daughter of Sioux Nation well fancied to get off the mark at the first time of asking and she duly obliged favourite backers over 6 furlongs. Coming on plenty for her opening success, she handily shouldered a penalty last time out at Kempton to again justify favouritism and score again smartly.

This is her debut on turf but she’s been showing plenty on the artificial surfaces to warrant her spot at this kind of level.

Frankie Dettori

Lezoo

J: Frankie Dettori
T: Ralph Beckett
N/A
Age: 2
Weight: 9-2
OR: 101
Days: 15

Lezoo only made her debut last month for Ralph Beckett but has been kept busy since her initial victory.

Getting the better of Cuban Mistress on debut at Bath over 5 furlongs last month, Lezoo then went on to score a listed race at Newmarket over 6 furlongs just two weeks later. The step up in trip drawing out more improvement and seen her win smartly, pulling away from her rivals powerfully.

Rightly sent off favourite for the Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes off the back of that two weeks ago, she was only out battled late by Mawj to finish a decent 2nd. With the two pulling clear of the remainder.

Off the back of that run, she certainly looks the one to beat if handling a fourth outing in a short space of time.

Glenlaurel

J: Andrea Atzeni
T: Kevin Ryan
N/A
Age: 2
Weight: 9-2
OR: N/A
Days: 39

Only seen once for Kevin Ryan and the colours of Sheikh Al Maktoum, Glenlaurel made a startling debut at Thirsk.

Sent off at large odds of 9/1 she looked green initially and came slowly out of the starting gates. However, she seemed to really get the hang of things in running and easily made her challenge without being asked too many questions.

Asked for a racing clinching effort in the last furlongs she easily quickened clear of the field impressively. The form has failed to stack up since but she couldn’t have won much easier. There’s likely more to come from this daughter of Lope De Vega.

Tom Marquand

Royal Charter

J: Tom Marquand
T: William Haggas
N/A
Age: 2
Weight: 9-2
OR: N/A
Days: 29

A daughter of Expert Eye, Royal Charter made her debut for William Haggas and Apple Tree Stud last month at Newmarket over 6 furlongs in maiden company.

Not particularly fancied in the betting beforehand, Royal Charter was held up out the back of the field before easily making up ground and just doing enough to get the better of Love Affairs by a head.

Only the 4th and 5th have been seen since but both ran well enough to be runner up in their next outings. Royal Charter and Love Affairs leaving them both well behind.

She’ll need to take a major step up here against some smart fillies but her form hasn’t been disgraced and she will come on for her debut outing.
