Kalif Du Berlais should take a lot of beating in the opening contest at Cheltenham on New Year's Day.

The five-year-old has won once from two starts over fences but was plucky when winning on his latest start over two miles at Newbury when getting the better of Tedley.

Should improve once again, and could give Harry Cobden a winning start to 2025.

Diva Luna is the runner for the Ben Pauling yard in the 12:55 at Cheltenham.

Kielan Woods is booked to take the ride. The six-year-old has won twice from three starts under rules, and was narrowly touched off on debut over hurdles last month when finishing second behind Metkayina over two miles at Lingfield. Should come on for that return.

Venetia Williams-trained Gemirande should prove difficult to beat in the 14:05 at Cheltenham today.

The nine-year-old has won on both of his starts this year, including when winning the December Gold Cup over course and distance last month.

Jumped excellently on that occasion, and is a leading chance on the strength of that form.

One Big Bang is the runner from the James Owen yard in the 14:40, and Harry Cobden is booked to take the ride.

The seven-year-old has won twice from 12 starts under rules, and was last seen finishing an excellent second over two miles at Haydock in a Grade Three.

Stays this trip well, and conditions will suit today.

Marhaba Prince will be the ride of Harry Skelton in the final race on the card at Cheltenham on New Year's Day.

The four-year-old will be making his first start for the Anthony Honeyball stable after winning on his first start over a mile and seven for the Owen Burrows yard.
