bet365 Mile Guide

1. Addeybb

Trainer - William Haggas

Jockey - James Doyle

This five year old would prefer the heavens to open and the rain to fall to stand a better chance but he won the Lincoln last year and then went on to score in this race and if finding that form again has a chance.

He has not been at his best when seen at the back end of last season but if coming back fresh and improving during his time off the track he could have each way claims.

2. Beat The Bank

Trainer - Andrew Balding

Jockey - Silvestre De Sousa

Another horse with bags of potential but will need to find his previous form again if to have a chance of winning this race after some weak performances in better races than this.

He has won four Group races in his career with the last of the coming last season at Glorious Goodwood in the Celebration Mile Stakes.

Needs to be fresh.

3. Mitchum Swagger

Trainer - Ralph Beckett

Jockey - Harry Bentley

Has been a very consistent performer on his last few runs at the end of the season especially his second to last run when winning at Newmarket in a Listed event.

He is an outsider for a reason though with him being a smart horse but not quite good enough to mix it in this Group 2 sphere and he will have to give a career best to finish well.

4. Oh This Is us

Trainer - Richard Hannon

Jockey - Tom Marquand

This six year old from the Richard Hannon yard did not have a bad season last term placing in three group events finishing well in behind some smart horses.

He has not been in some bad form on the all weather this season winning two out of his four runs in Class 2 events but again this might just be to big of a step up.

5. Regal Reality

Trainer - Sir Michael Stoute

Jockey - Ryan Moore

This unexposed four year old has only raced five times in his career putting in some smart performances behind some decent horses and winning two of them.

His best performance came at Glorious Goodwood last year when winning a six runner Group 3 that showed the colt to have a lot of potential and if finding that on Friday could be in the mix.

6. Sharja Bridge

Trainer - Roger Varian

Jockey - Andrea Atzeni

The stand alone favourite out of the thriving Roger Varian yard looks to be the one to beat of the back of his last two performances.

He can run on all types of ground winning the 20 runner Balmoral Handicap at Ascot on soft ground and then on his seasonal return on good ground winning the Listed Doncaster Mile.

This five year old has bags of potential and it would not be a surprise if he takes his ability to the next level and lands this Group 2.

7. Suedois

Trainer - David O'Meara

Jockey - Daniel Tudhope

This eight year old has bags of experience now being an eight year old but has raced well during his career finishing in the placings behind some special horses in races between seven furlongs and a mile.

He landed a Grade 1 in the USA and has also won a Group 2 at Leopardstown, whether he is now up to this standard will be tested on Friday.

8. Zwayyan

Trainer - Andrew Balding

Jockey - Rob Hornby

The big outsider of the field is the Andrew Balding and King Power owned Zwayyan who is a decent handicapper but looks out of place in Group company and is 66/1 for a reason.

It would be a shock to see him go close after three mixed runs this season and top jockey SDS is not on board which shows a lot.
