Haydock Park racecourse isn’t steeped in centuries of history, like many of its counterparts. The racecourse opened its gates in 1899, and in recent decades won two awards for Racecourse of the year, in 1998 and 2000.
Haydock offers flat racing along with National Hunt racing, it’s one of the Norths busiest tracks as it plays host to some fantastic meets. The Grand National Trial kicks off in February and is shortly followed by The Temple Stakes in May. There’s also the Betfair Chase in November, Sprint Cup in September and July sees the Old Newton Cup and Lancashire Oaks race events too.
