Who To Follow From Newcastle

Horse To Follow - Splinter

In the second race of the day at Newcastle it sees a Class 5 Novice contest over a mile and Splinter for trainer Richard Fahey will be very tough to beat.

We believe he is one of the best bets of the day off the back of his fourth on debut at York last year on soft ground and now in a weaker field should show improvement.

The three year old showed bundles of ability when finishing fourth and now getting the step up in trip he could be a very exciting newcomer.

Trainer To Follow - James Tate

A trainer that may be worth watching tomorrow is James Tate who has not had a bad start to the season with one winner from his six runners which sees him running at just under 17%.

Newcastle is a track that he has ben very consistent at over the last year with four wins and four places from 16 runners over the last 12 months which sees him posing a strike rate of 26.67%.

On Thursday the handler only has one runner on the all weather and that is 11/1 chance Dream Shot who looks to have a big each way shout at a nice price.

Jockey To Follow - Silvestre De Sousa

Finally the rider that we believe might go well tomorrow is the three time champion jockey Silvestre De Sousa who has not set the season alight yet but is due a big day.

De Sousa has had one winner from his six rides so far and it was dominant performance for his retained owner King Power Racing at Newcastle.

SDS does not have a bad record at the track he is at on Thursday with 28 rides there in the last 12 months and he has managed five wins, nine places seeing him pose a strike rate of 17.86%.
