Days: 20

The feature race of the afternoon is the Group Two Yorkshire Cup over 1m6f and we are taking on the favourite Stradivarius with Irish St Leger winner Search For A Song.

A superb horse for Dermot Weld over the years over staying distances he looks to have a lot going for him in this race and with the favourite now being eight years of age and maybe not the horse of old, we are happy to take him on.

Search For A Song is a Group One winner that is consistent majority of the time having form behind Trueshan, Scope and Kyprios in G2 and G1 races in the last few years.

Having performed well last season winning a Group Three event over two miles at the Curragh by close to 10 lengths, he then finished a fair fourth of 12 in France in the G1 Prix Royal-Oak.

Making his season debut this term in the Listed Vintage Crop Stakes over 1m6f at Navan, he only found the talented Kyprios too good on the day for the same owners.

Having had that run he should be primed for this event and we think he is big value at 7/2.

Trainer To Follow - Alice Haynes

Trainer Alice Haynes sends just two runners to York on Friday and with the handler not being one of the biggest names in the sport, her horses may get overlooked in the betting and she looks to have two horses at bigger prices than they should be.

In the opening race of the afternoon she fields the likeable Fix You for owners Amo Racing, the daughter of Night Of Thunder won emphatically on debut last month and could turn out to be anythinf.

Her other runner comes in the lucky last with Josies Kid progressing nicely this term and having won her only race at York over a similar trip, he could go close again.

Jockey To Follow - Frankie Dettori

One of the greatest flat jockeys, Frankie Dettori could be set for a special day at York on Friday with a handful of smart rides for different trainers.

In the Listed Oak Farms Stables Fillies' Stakes he sits on the smart Grande Dam who was a brave winner on debut and should progress again.

Dettori teams up with Stradivarius again in the Yorkshire Cup having won multiple Group One races on the horse and in what looks to be his last season, the eight year old could still go well.

The final runner of the day for the Italian is New Comedy for Charlie Appleby with the three year old winning both his events to date, showing clear staying ability and he has every chance.
