Who To Follow At Cheltenham On Sunday

Horse To Follow - Defi Du Seuil

Defi Du Seuil begins his season in the Shloer chase and it'll be very interesting to see how he fares this year.

After winning the Triumph in 2017, nothing went right for him the season after and his career was reignited over fences last year.

After beating RSA winner TopoftheGame on his second chase start, he was then second to Lostintranslation in the Dipper at Cheltenham, before reversing that form in Scilly Isles at Sandown and then winning the JLT at the festival.

We last saw him finishing a credible second after a long season at the Punchestown Festival to Willie Mullins' Chacun Pour Soi and this race looks ideal for him to get his season underway.

Trainer To Follow - Paul Nicholls

The season started a little slow for the 11 times Champion trainer but his horses seem to be firing now and he's got some live chances on Sunday.

Getaway Trump was just one of many who needed the run from the Nichols yard, he was beaten by Al Dancer on chase debut when seemingly travelling strongly and now with a run over his belt, he can overturn the form and looks to be Nicholls' best chance of a winner on Sunday.

He also has many other chances. Quel Destin was a winner at the October meeting and could go well in the Greatwood whilst Politologue takes on Defi Du Seuil in the Shloer chase after finishing second to Altior in the Champion Chase and Nicholls will be hoping for a good day.

Jockey To Follow - Gavin Sheehan

Gavin Sheehan has a strong book of rides and will be hoping to be in the Winners Enclosure come Sunday.

Sheehan rides Fact of the Matter in the Cross Country Chase and he'll be hoping he can go one better than last year.

He won on him when a winner over course and distance at the International meeting and seemingly seems his best chance of the day.

Saint Calvados goes for the Shloer instead of the Bet Victor Gold Cup and the smaller field and level weights will give him a strong chance too in a good looking race whilst Rouge Vif will be going for glory in the Arkle trial.
