Trainers And Jockeys Thoughts From The Weekend Of Racing

James Doyle On Sea Of Class

James Doyle gave one of the rides of the year in our eyes on Sea Of Class in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on Sunday to nearly get up on the line and steal the prize away from the now dual Arc winner Enable.

Doyle has split opinion on social media after the race with some people thinking he left it to late and it was a poor ride, but that is very much up for debate but here is what the leading jockey thought on his ride.

Christopher Tsui Owner Of Sea Of Class

Owner of the brilliant filly Sea Of Class, Christopher Tsui was the unlucky loser on Arc day but still reflected on the occasion and was very proud of his horse and the ride that was given on her by jockey James Doyle.

Christopher Tsui won the race back in 2009 with Sea The Stars the Sire to Sea Of Class, so he has now been in both positions in the race of winning and coming runner up and he definitely knows which one he prefers.

John Gosden On Enable

The winning trainer and arguably the best in the sport John Gosden was more relieved than anything else that his wonderful filly Enable just did enough to get up and win the race for the second time in a row.

Gosden stressed in his interview how special this horse really is and that it was amazing off the back of the little preparation they could do, with just one race not even on turf and to then go and win the race again.

John Gosden On Frankie Dettori

Gosden also followed up with another interview shortly after the victory to pay great respect to the jockey on board the filly and his number one retained rider in Frankie Dettori.

Dettori became the most successful jockey in the race now winning it six times out the 30 rides he has had in Paris. For John Gosden this is his third winner in the last four years, what a remarkable achievement.
