Trainer Iain Jardine on Tuesday is looking to have a winner on the all weather at Southwell, sending just one runner to the Nottinghamshire based track on the day, which sees the handler make a 402 mile round trip.
When we see trainers coming such a long way to just run the one horse we like to highlight it, as we believe they would not be coming all that way if it did not have a real chance.
Jardine has a superb record when travelling this far with his horses, running at a 15% strike rate for his career having 113 winners from 736 travelling horses.
His runner Equidae does his best work at seven furlongs at this track as his last three runs over this trip saw him place twice and win over course and distance.
Two starts ago he was dropped down to six furlongs and it did not suit and but when stepped back up to seven last time out he was a positive third in a much tougher race than this one today.
He is a four time track winner that has conditions to suit and now dropping into a Class 6 should see him go close.
