Thursday Throwback Race - 22/10/20

Samcro

We are only one day away from Cheltenham's first jumps meeting of the season and looking back at last year's festival there were some superb contests that go under the radar.

The Marsh Novices' Chase was a superb contest this year, with Mullins and Elliott dominating the finish with Samcro just managing to get the better of Melon, who has now finished second at the festival three times.

Samcro, having already won at the four day festival back in 2018 when taking the Ballymore Novices' Hurdle, but this season he came back from a less than impressive 18 months to land his first Grade One over fences.

He is a horse for the ages that has been superb for Gordon Elliott and the training performance from the handler to get him back to his best was nothing short of a mircale.
