Today we are looking back at the 2019 renewal of the Group One Irish Oaks with British raider Star Catcher giving John Gosden his third victory in the race in the last eight years.
The master British trainer, now in a joint partnership with his son Thady, has never been shy about acoming across the Irish Sea to race his horses and this race it has paid off.
He has seen the likes of Great Heavens, Enable and his lastest victor Star Catcher all dominate superb fields and in 2019 the Anthony Oppenheimer owned filly made every yard to score.
The filly had a superb career winning five of her seven events including this race, the Group One Prix Vermeille and she rounded off her career in the British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes.
She was a special horse that has flew under the radar for just how good she was and today we are celebrating her victory in the Irish Oaks.
