Three Performances Of The Week

The feature race of the of the week was the Grade Two International Hurdle, where we were hoping for some big clues for the Champion Hurdle back at Cheltenham in March.

Song For Someone is 16/1 in places for the Grade One contest on the Tuesday of the festival and it would not be a surprise to see him place for sure.

Mister Fisher on Friday bounced back to form to land the rearranged Grade Two Peterborough Chase after starting off his season being pulled up.

The Seven Barrows stable think a lot of this horse and having always shown glimpses of stardom, they will be hoping he can now consistently churn out performances like the one he showed on Friday to win the event.

The Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham festival seems to be his big target for the season and was moved from 33/1 into 16/1 with some firms for the event.

He seems to like racing Cheltenham having now won at back to back December meetings and having finished a good fourth in the Marsh Novices' Chase last term, he will be hoping to go closer in next year's festival.

The final horse we believe deserves a mention after his performance was Sky Pirate for Jonjo O'Neill in the Handicap Chase and this seven year old won with any amount in hand.

Having been running between 2m4f and 3m during the majority of his career, his handler decided to drop him to two miles and it worked a treat.

He looks a good stayer at the trip, but when going further just empties towards the finish, but what made this win so impressive was how motionless the jockey was when jumping the last and going up the hill.

Although the horse does not look like he could he handle better black type company that performance was very special and staying two miles should be the prerogative from now on.
