Coumshingaun

Weight: 8-7

Days: 20

Coumshingaun comes here in terrific form having won both her last two starts, one of which was a 16 runner handicap over course and distance.

If managing to hold her form, I think she will take the beating for trainer Kevin Coleman and jockey Jamie Powell.

I’m going to take a chance on the John McConell trained Wild Shot, who has won his last three outings, two of which were over hurdles and the most recent success coming on the flat, over the extended 1m4f trip at Down Royal.

Siobhan Rutledge takes the mount and Wild Shot should go close from stall 2.

Benitoite was a beaten favourite on racecourse debut, when finishing second over 7f at The Curragh last August.

The daughter of Pivotal fetched 180,000gns as a yearling and was obviously pleasing connections prior to that debut effort.

If not running too fresh in the early stages, I think Benitoite can go one better here.
