Super Sprint Stakes Guide

1. Taxiwala

T - Archie Watson

J - Oisin Murphy

Two-year-old son of Holy Roman Emperor had been making fine ground as a juvenile this term, until finishing eighth in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Needs to bounce back under top weight on his fifth career starts.

2. Kyllwind

T - Martyn Meade

J - James Doyle

Two starts in the last month and yet to really make the premises in either.

Rises up to a Class Two, and very wide draw to overcome in this big field.

3. Ventura Rebel

T - Richard Fahey

J - Paul Hanagan

Trainer and jockey in flying form of late together, and combine together again with Ventura Rebel - who many may remember upset Lady Pauline on her British debut at Ascot in May.

This juvenile finished a great second to A'Ali in the Norfolk, and must be deemed a strong contender to take this.

4. Clay Regazzoni

T - Keith Dalgleish

J - Jim Crowley

Good progress this season was halted at Royal Ascot when finishing tenth of fourteen in the Chesham Stakes behind Pinatubo.

Looked quite babyish, and another big field may get the better of him here again.

5. Audio

T - Richard Hannon

J - Pat Dobbs

One of the more experienced two-year-old's in the line-up, coming here a week after finishing third at Lingfield.

Was hanging about that day, and if Pat Dobbs can keep him on the straight and narrow, he should be capable of running into a place.

6. Show Me Show Me

T - Richard Fahey

J - Paddy Mathers

Show Me Show me looked smart on debut at Doncaster back on Lincoln day in March, but struggled on the soft at Chester next time out when sent off as the favourite.

He finished a detached second to Monoski at Pontefract latest, and needs to stop acting fussy with the ground.

7. Great Dame

T - David O'Meara

J - David Probert

Began her season in the best style after average debut at Redcar, winning next time out at Ripon and then at Chester.

Struggled for form since contesting Listed company, and confidence really needs a lift here.

8. Manolith

T - David O'Meara

J - Jason Watson

One victory in five starts, this juvenile finished third to Mrs Bouquet at York last week in a Nursery.

That effort certainly corrected his poor performance at Leicester in May, but still has sufficient ground to make up for David O'Meara.

9. Mighty Spirit

T - Richard Fahey

J - P J McDonald

Went close on first two starts at Newcastle and at York earlier in the year, before finishing a positive sixth in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot.

Came back out a couple of weeks ago to finish a narrow second at Beverley back down in class and probably should have won that.

Top form angle.

10. River Of Kings

T - Keith Dalgelish

J - Fergus Sweeney

Ontawinner owned River Of Kings may be out of her depth here, having not shown much in her first three starts.

Hard to give any evidence for.

11. Emten

T - Jamie Osborne

J - Nicola Currie

Winning debut at Windsor back in April in a weak looking novice - given that no horse has come out and won since.

Outran odds when fifth in the Norfolk Stakes, and may take things to the next level here.

A further distance could be what he wants in time.

12. Never In Paris

T - Karl Burke

J - Ben Curtis

Winner on debut earlier this month at Nottingham, No Nay Never's progeny seem to be going all guns blazing at the moment and he could have another star on his hands here with this filly.

The two-year-old bolted up over a short price favourite of Archie Watson's, and has obvious claims going into this contest.

13. Dearly Beloved

T - Keith Dalgleish

J - Rowan Scott

Showed a bit of promise when running on late in the day at Beverley on debut earlier this month.

Given another go at five furlongs, but hopefully has grasped the idea of racing and will look to be a bit more prominent today.

14. Charlemaine

T - Paul Cole

J - Josephine Gordon

No good at Royal Ascot in the Windsor Castle, but showed plenty of promise in his maiden at Brighton back in April.

Bought from France after he finished a decent third on debut at Saint-cloud, so clearly he is held in high regard.

Improvement expected.

15. Electric Ladyland

T - Archie Watson

J - Luke Morris

Continuing his trainer's traits, Electric Ladyland looked a top juvenile at the start of the season when winning on the all-weather at Lingfield and Kempton.

Struggled for form on the turf including when down the field in the Windsor Castle last time out, so needs to up her game drastically.

16. Separate

T - Richard Hannon

J - Andrea Atzeni

Hannon has had a few 'hit and miss' juveniles in 2019, with the best surely being the Cheveley Park owned Threat.

This filly has won once and placed in two other starts in a five-race career, producing a career best last time out at Windsor in a Conditions Race.

Chances from a wide post.

17. Seraphinite

T - Jamie Osborne

J - Shane Kelly

One win and arguably one solid performance to discuss from four career starts, when winning at Kempton at large odds in May.

Clearly demonstrated solid ability, but has been hard to unlock in three other appearances.

Fourth at Chelmsford in a nursery last week.

18. Dynamighty

T - Richard Spencer

J - Sean Kirrane

Drawn in one, this Due Diligence filly is yet to place in three starts in small fields and may find this is a bit too much.

Fifth at Yarmouth last week in a Novice auction, so hard to really fancy on profile.

19. Bettys Hope

T - Rod Millmam

J - Silvestre De Sousa

Decent record; finishing second three times on opening three appearances, but has prevailed twice recently, including at Chelmsford two weeks back.

Proved she can handle the turf when triumphing over Chepstow's rather large hills in May, so should definitely be seen to good effect.

20. Ocasio Cortez

T - Richard Hannon

J - Franny Norton

Beaten favourite at Newbury last time out having bolted up at Lingfield the start before.

Return to five furlongs definitely looks a plus, and these colours have been going well lately.

21. Baileys In Bloom

T - Richard Fahey

J - Royston Ffrench

Another for Fahey, Baileys In Bloom took a step back in the right direction when running well behind Mrs Bouquet in a Nursery at Catterick last week.

Won on debut at Beverley so clearly has promise, but the step up in grade could catch her out again.

22. Bacchlot

T - Richard Hannon

J - John Fahy

Four-race maiden for this juvenile, and hard to see her making a difference in this contest.

Finished fourth in a Novice Auction at Chelmsford this time last month and probably worth a market check.

23. Maybellene

T - George Scott

J - Jimmy Quinn

Beaten favourite at Beverley last time out having shown plenty of potential at Windsor on debut.

The former contest was won by Baileys In Bloom back in April, so has had a big break in between runs and ready to try again.

24. Odyssey Girl

T - Richard Spencer

J - Liam Jones

This filly won on debut at Newbury last week, and quickly puts her unbeaten record to the test in this.

Related to plenty of group winners in the family, and perhaps they are the targets down the line.

25. Daddies Diva

T - Rod Millman

J - Raul Da Silva

Finished second at 100/1 at Nottingham back in April before surging to the front at the same venue just over a week later.

Well held at Pontefract on next appearance, and a long way behind Star Alexander at Bath a month ago.

Work to do and ground to find.
