The Ger Lyons trained Siskin tops the market for the first Irish Classic contest of the season on Friday with 14 other runners currently declared to head to post in search of the prestigious Group One.
Siskin was the top two year old in Ireland last season, seeing off all competition in his four starts including landing his trainers first ever Group One in the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh.
The three year old showed he was a pace merchant last season racing over six furlongs for the entire season and the racing world will be watching on to see if he can get the extra two furlongs that the 2000 Guineas desires.
Aidan O'Brien as ever has a strong team set to go to post with the potential of him fielding seven runners which is headed by Armory who last term landed races at Group Two and Three level.
Vatican City, Royal Lytham, Lope Y Fernandes, Hong Kong, Fort Myers and Monarch Of Egypt could also represent the Ballydoyle maestro.
Another O'Brien, Joseph, has two chances in the contest Choice Of Mine and the unbeaten Crossfirehurricane, who last time out in February managed to get a Listed success under his belt.
Other trainers with runners in the field include Michael Halford with Sinawann who was second behind Mogul last time out and Jessica Harrington’s smart maiden winner Free Solo also features, along with Andrew Slattery’s Rebel Tale and the Jim Bolger-trained pair of Agitare and Fiscal Rules.
