The first selection of the afternoon comes in the 1m6f Class 2 Handicap and Dark Jedi looks to have a solid chance off the back of his last run.

A solid yardstick for Tim Easterby Dark Jedi has been decent on both his runs this year, finishing fourth of seven on his comeback run and then last time out gave a recent career best run.

Taking on the likeable Enemy at Musselburgh in the Queens Cup over 1m6f he ran the Ian Williams horse all the way to the line settling for second.

Enemy has since ran well in Group Three company and now 1lb lower than that run he looks a big player.

The first big race of the day is the Listed Pretty Polly Stakes over 1m2f and Crenelle for John & Thady Gosden looks the pick of the bunch.

Crenelle is a beautifully bred daughter of Kingman that ran green on debut at Southwell over a mile getting into trouble when asked to go win the race.

She still ran on really well to finish third by a short head but was then promoted to second in the stewards room.

Making her first start on turf last time out at Newmarket over a mile again she got off the mark in determined fashion staying out the trip well to just see off Fonteyn for Kevin Ryan, with the pair of them nearly nine lengths clear of the third.

Stepping upto 1m2f should bring improvement with stamina in her pedigree being a half sister to St Leger winner Logician and she is a very exciting prospect for Juddmonte.

Another nice event on the card is the Group Two Dahlia Stakes over 1m1f and we are taking a chance on Dreamloper for Ed Walker.

He was a bit up and down last term but overall put in some very smart runs and if running to the form of some of those should be in the frame.

A winner of the Group Three Valiant Stakes over a mile on good to firm at ascot in July seeing off the smart Lights On by 4 1/2 lengths, she then went to Newbury in the G2 Hungerford Stakes and could only finish fourth behind the talented Sacred.

Seen twice more last term she went into the Group One Matron Stakes at Leopardstown and got outclassed not beating many home, but returned to form in a big way on her final start.

Dreamloper finished a superb third of 12 in the Group One Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket over a mile behind Saffron Beach and 1000 Guineas winner Mother Earth.

She steps up a furlong in trip here but having form in a better race at the track and not bad record when going well fresh, she looks the value.

The feature race of the afternoon at Newmarket is the Group One 1000 Guineas and we are siding with Discoveries.

Jessica Harrington’s filly Discoveries looks a very interesting type in the 1000 Guineas off the back of her last run.

The daughter of Mastercraftsman has been seen for times to date, finishing fourth on debut last term over 7f at Leopardstown behind Juncture who she takes on again here.

She got off the mark next time out at the Curragh, beating Aidan O’Brien’s filly Tuesday by a short head, who has since Franked the form.

Given a run on soft ground she still went on to finish a fair third behind Agartha for Joseph O’Brien but she didn’t handle the ground swell as she does on quicker surfaces.

Rounding off last season off in the Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh, she reversed the form with Agartha and Sunset Shiraz with the quicker ground bringing the best out of her to go on and win.

The yard seem to have a good one with her progressing with each run and unlike the favourite Tenebrism she is likely to stay to the trip.

Next up is the Class 3 Handicap over 1m2f and the value seems to be with the Mark & Charlie Johnston trained Super Stars.

Seen three times to date the son of Sea The Stars made his debut in August last year at Hamilton when learning for a lot for the experience back in fourth and then up in trip at Chester in September he finished a good second behind the progressive Abbado for Sir Mark Prescott.

Kept at the same trip for his latest run at Goodwood he was again a close second behind a nice type for Marco Botti and at 9/2 looks to have a big chance.

North Lincoln

J: Luke Morris
T: Sir Mark Prescott Bt
N/A
Age: 3
Weight: 9-2
OR: 76
Days: 97

The final event of the Guineas meeting is the Class 4 Handicap over seven furlongs and North Lincoln looks a solid selection.

Making his debut in December over 6f at Wolves he was a bright third and then backed that up at Lingfield when chasing home the smart Income.

Having his first run of this season he got off the mark in good style at Southwell and now making his handicap debut off a mark of 76, he could be dangerous.

7f should suit.
