Starting life with Roger Varian, Kingmax failed to score in two outings as a juvenile but did show plenty of promise. Running twice over 6 furlongs he filled the 2nd place spot both times.
Not seen for the rest of the season and moved to David Loughnane after that, he came back over a mile this season and won smartly on the all weather in a novice race. After that impressive showing he tried to move up in grade but failed to get involved in the Craven Stakes.
Moved up in trip subsequently has seen him try 10 furlongs in group company. Coming a well beaten 5th in the Dante Stakes and then 3rd of six runners in the Hampton Court Stakes at Ascot.
Moving back down in trip and class might help but he didn’t look like he was crying out for a shorter trip last time out.
