In the 23 year olds first serious injury of her sure to be dazzling career she hit a set back when her horse unseated her and then she was unfortunately trampled on by the horse just in behind her.

When coming out of the injury the worst wasn't feared for the female jockey as they suspected it was just bad bruising and she had got away lightly. This was not to be the case and her scan results showed she had suffered internal injuries including a liver tear, fractured sternum and a bruised pancreas.

The good news for Frost is that she is now back riding and it was yesterday at the scene of where she fell at Newton Abbot where she returned having two rides on the card. She unfortunately did not get a winner but it was just to have her back in the mix for the start of the season .

Philip Makin

Flat jockey Philip Makin back in August suffered a dreadful Injury at Redcar when Eyecatcher trained by Simon Crisford broke a leg and that sent the horse and the jockey to the ground where Makin suffered a dreadful injury.

From the crashing fall he managed to break a bone in his neck, luckily the ambulances were on the scene rapidly where he was stretchered away. From that day he has yet to be seen back on a track which must be frustrating for the young jockey.

However things since then have took a turn for the worst as the injuries sustained that day were worse than first assumed and adding to the broken neck the 34 year old also sustained fractures to his ribs, back and ankle and this means he will be out for longer than first thought.
