The ITV Cameras turn their attention to Newbury and Ripon for the racing this weekend, featuring Group and handicap action at Newbury and the Great St Wilfred handicap at Ripon.

Pinhole 2/1
Although he disappointed at Royal Ascot after shaping with promise behind Derby winner Lambourn at Chester.
Left his poor outing in the Queen’s Vase behind when trying handicap company for the first time off a mark of 98 in impressive fashion.
Connections opt to go up in trip and into a higher grade now. Officially rated 106 he’s well worth his spot at this level and the extended 1 mile 5 furlongs trip on this flat track should be ideal. Will be hard to beat with his weight for age allowance.
Rhythm N Hooves 7/1
Arrives in Newbury in good form having run a credible 2nd in a strong enough looking handicap at Ascot at the end of last month.
Not unfairly treated with a 2lbs hike up in the weights for that run and is still feasibly well treated off a mark of 87 against today’s company.
Drops in grade now and can go well under Billy Loughnane.
Fortamour 11/2
Form interlinking with Mister Sox looks to be integral for this and Fortamour put in a massive effort 12 days ago to be beaten only a couple of lengths by that rival off level weights. Likely would’ve finished closer too had he not stumbled at the start.
With Mister Sox looking to have a good chance in the Great St Wilfrid Handicap, it’s form worth latching onto.
Fortamour lines up 1lbs lower in the weights now and boasts an impressive record of four top 4 finishes over this course and distance this season. Can go well again from an ideal high draw.
Consolidation 15/2
Won at Goodwood at the start of the season like a good horse and retains an attractive looking profile for these kind of handicap events.
Wasn’t disgraced in 10th in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot but was a touch disappointing at Glorious Goodwood when never getting out of midfield.
Looks unexposed as a 3 year old off a mark of 94 and a nice straight 7 furlongs should be more to his liking. Can get back on track now.
Rousing Encore 5/1
Ruth Carr is operating at an impressive 50% horses RTF at the moment and saddles a strong looking favourite for the Great St Wilfrid Handicap in Rousing Encore.
A winner at big price at York at the start of the campaign, he’s since posted solid 4th placed efforts in some strong handicaps and retains a mark of 87 for his close 4th in the Sky Bet Dash at York last time out.
Only beaten just under a length, he’s clearly well handicapped and off a feather weight of 8st9, should come off the pace well under James Sullivan.
Witness Stand 5/1
Simply looks too big of a price at 5/1 given how in form he’s been this summer for connections.
Came a close 2nd at Chester in a strong looking listed race before absolutely dismantling the field in the Lennox Stakes at Glorious Goodwood, running out a convincing 2.75 lengths winner.
Scored at this venue in a listed race last season and is in top form. 7 furlongs looks his optimum and might just get the trip better than others higher in the betting despite the Group Two Penalty.
