ITV Racing Tips for Today - Friday 28th November

ITV Racing are live for a decent Friday ahead from Newbury and Southwell. Two Grade 2 races take centre stage at Newbury, while Southwell host a couple of Listed Contests. We've gone through all six live races on the afternoon and picked out our tips and selections for the day.

Regent's Stroll 9/4

Regent’s Stroll has plenty in his favour for the 13:50 at Newbury. He comes into the race on the back of strong hurdle form, including a runner-up finish in a Grade 1 at Aintree over 2m4f, which marks him out as a horse with genuine class.

He has also shown he handles Newbury well, having won a hurdle race here earlier in his career, displaying both talent and resilience despite a late mistake that day. The move to fences could bring further improvement: his trainer has expressed confidence in his ability as a chaser, and his physical profile suggests he may well thrive over the larger obstacles.

With conditions and trip looking suitable and the race not appearing to feature an unbeatable standout rival, the setup could be ideal for him to make a winning start to his chasing career.

Telepathique 7/2

Telepathique comes into the race in solid and progressive form, having shown herself to be a reliable chaser with multiple good performances, including a Listed Mares’ Chase win last season and a recent runner-up effort at Carlisle that confirmed she’s still improving.

She jumps well, travels smoothly, and looks well suited to this type of race. Dropping back into handicap company at Newbury could play to her strengths, as her current mark gives her room to be competitive, and the expected conditions over 2m3f should hold no fears for her.

With a capable rider booked and a race setup that should allow her to get into a good rhythm, she has enough in her favour to mount a serious winning challenge.

Shader 5/6

Shader looks a major contender, arriving unbeaten on the all-weather and coming off a dominant Listed win at Kempton where he pulled well clear of the field — a performance that marks him as a rapidly improving runner.

He represents the powerful John & Thady Gosden yard and has a top-class jockey booked, which signals strong confidence from connections going into this contest.

As a lightly raced four-year-old with clear upward momentum and proven effectiveness on synthetic surfaces, he has both the profile and recent form to be a serious threat here. Add in favourable conditions at Southwell, and he has every chance of delivering another big run .

Strong Leader 11/4

Strong Leader is the defending champion in this very race, having won the Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury last season under the same rider and trainer, so he has proven course form and knows exactly what this test demands.

He also returned to form with a recent hurdles win at Wetherby, showing he’s fit, sharp, and in good heart coming into this assignment.

Stamina is one of his biggest strengths, and over a staying trip like this he tends to grow stronger as the race unfolds. Connections are fitting cheekpieces to help him concentrate, signalling confidence that there’s even more to come as he bids to retain his crown.

Zoum Zoum 8/1

Zoum Zoum arrives in good form, having finished a solid second in a recent Listed event at Doncaster, showing he is battle‑hardened and ready to perform at this level.

He has previously won on all‑weather, so the Tapeta surface at Southwell should suit him perfectly, giving him an edge in a fast 6f sprint.

As a relatively lightly raced four‑year‑old, he still appears to have more improvement left in him, which could help him take a Listed prize here.

Diamond Ri 9/2
