ITV Racing Tips for Today - Sunday 12th April

A bumper Sunday of racing action on ITV with eleven live races on the day coming from Musselburgh and Leopardstown. Some competitive looking handicap action from the Scottish track, there's some strong looking group races over in Ireland to pick through. We've taken a look at all the live races and picked out our selections for the afternoon.

Adonis 8/13

Sets the standard at the top of the market having had one run 8 days ago over C+D and running out an impressive 7 lengths winner. Doesn’t rate as much of a price but has experience in the books and looked well above average. Can make it a quick fire double.

Power Blue 4/1

Brings the most experience and some of the best form to the table for this race having signed off his juvenile campaign winning the Phoenix Stakes and getting the better of True Love. Will relish this step up in trip and looks a good price if fully wound up for seasonal comeback.

Thestral 16/1

Improved upon his debut outing to win a novice event at Newcastle over 7 furlongs back in December, well enough fancied for a handicap at Kempton when last seen but was too keen and fresh and weakened out of contention. Will come on for having that run under his belt off a break and a mark of 67 looks very workable.

True Love 7/4

The class angle in this field, winning the Group One Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket back in September. Carries a penalty for that success here but looks a really nice prospect based on her juvenile form and is rated 7lbs clear of her rivals here.

Ice Sovereigns 6/1

Won a maiden against her own sex at Calrisle under a positive ride last season and backed that effort up in a handicap off a mark of 81. Can be forgiven for finishing down the field in a group race on her last outing and returns to much calmer waters now rated 85. Can make this a good test from the front end.

A Boy Named Susie 8/1

Rates as a good each way selection have come 2nd to both to top two in the market last season and already confirmed he stays this trip in the Criterium de Saint-Cloud. Brings nice form to the table and can be in the frame again if running to his usual level.

Dwindling Funds 9/1

Went close when hitting trouble in running on his last run of the season last year. Stays 1 mile well and shapes like he will appreciate this step up in trip by an extra furlong. A mark of 76 is well within his scope.

Another Day Done 9/1

Holds a bit of match fitness over his rivals having had runs on the All-Weather at Dundalk in January, winning well when stepped up to a mile and unlucky when last seen being squeezed for room. Tackles turf for the first time here but looks well handicapped off 75 and has seemingly found improvement for the step up in trip.

Say What You See 11/2

Returned from his winter break with an encouraging 3rd placed effort at Doncaster off this mark. That run will have blown the cobwebs away and he was in decent form last season in middle distance handicaps. Billy Garritty has brought him home in front twice and gets the ride again.

Sea Suite 9/4

Some lowkey efforts last season but took a step forward off the back of a winter break with a handicap win at Southwell when dropped in trip to 7 furlongs. The form looks decent with the 2nd and 3rd coming out and placing since and only being raised 2lbs for the win leaves him looking well handicapped.

Northern Spirit 12/1

Ran really well at Doncaster to be 3rd when last seen after slowly becoming well handicapped. Eases back in grade here to an easier level and will get ground to suit. Handicapped to win a race of this nature.
