ITV Racing Tips for Today - Friday 10th October

ITV Racing are live on ITV from three courses on Friday, featuring group action from Newmarket, handicaps from York and the kick off of the jumps season from Chepstow with the Persian War Novices Hurdle. We've gone through all the live races and picked out our tips and fancies for the day.

Revival Power 3/1

Has improved as the season has gone on and left behind a poor effort at Royal Ascot to go close in a group three at Glorious Goodwood to be 2nd to Spicy Marg.

Won well in a listed race at York next time out before dotting up at Doncaster in the Flying Childers Stakes, making all the running and powering clear late on.

Looks to have a big engine and can put these to the sword from the front.

Leadman 8/1

Has fallen to a really attractive handicap mark now and looks worth a go off a mark of 86 with a 5lbs claimer taking over in the saddle.

Didnt run badly in a similar event over course and distance back in August, hampered by a wide draw and hitting trouble in running but wasn’t beaten too far.

Carries an incredibly low weight and is well drawn in trap 4, can put in a good effort.

Poet Master 11/4

It might just be worth taking a chance on Poet Master to get back to his best following an interrupted campaign this year, having a big break between his seasonal comeback in May and his second run of the campaign.

Just lacked the sharpness to hold on over 7 furlongs at Longchamp when last seen in September but should strip fitter for that now and running to his best again here puts him right in the mix.

Handles any ground and looks a shade overpriced at 5/1.

Dante’s Lad 15/2

A race a month ago over course and distance won by Zain Blue looks to hold the key to this encounter, so it’s a slight surprise to see the 2nd Dante’s Lad as big as 7/1 for this despite only being 1lbs higher in the weights.

Hornsea Bay Has gathered strong market support but with the claimer employed for the ride on Dante’s Lad he’s worse off with that rival than when finishing over a length behind him.

Jack Callan’s 5lbs claim will hopefully make the difference for Dante’s Lad to go one better than last time he ran on the Knavesmire.

Precise 15/8

Narrowly beaten on her debut over 6 furlongs, the Aidan O’Brien filly has since improved bundles and taken in her last three runs.

Breaking her maiden over 7 furlongs before a raid over in the UK at Goodwood to get the better of Moon Target to win a Group Three.

Improved again to win the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh when last seen and shapes like she’ll relish the step up to a mile. Sets the standard and should be hard to beat at the top of the market.

Lord Accord 3/1

The veteran’s race series is a brilliant chance for the older chasers to keep running in races that give them a good opportunity to stay competitive and its nice to see Lord Accord in here for Neil Mulholland.

He ran well in a few races last season including a good 2nd in the Badger Beers Chase and should appreciate this move to Veteran’s ranks.

Ran well to be 2nd at Cartmel back in August and might just hold a fitness edge over those near the top of the market.

Dangerman 7/1

At the prices I’d rather side with Dangerman to find some improvement now moving up in trip to 12 furlongs after looking like he wants the longer trip at Sandown last time out.

Has tried 12 furlongs before but faded tamely earlier in the season but looks to have improved since then and should shape better now with more experience in the books.

Got up the hill well at Sandown and doesn’t look badly treated off a mark of 89, should go well again if taking to the longer distance.

Queensbury Boy 6/4

It’s no secret that David Maxwell talked up the chances of this horse for the Persian War after looking like a smart novice hurdler last season.

Sale on hold for now as he looks to take in the Persian War and it’ll be interesting to see someone other than David Maxwell on one of his horses.

Gets 5lbs from his nearest market rival and If fully tuned up he should be hard to beat.
