Jazzy Matty 10/1
Broke hearts at Cheltenham when being collared on the line in the Grand Annual when looking for back to back wins in the race, losing by a nose. Reverts back to the smaller obstacles now on a lenient looking mark of 130 and does have form in the books over this longer trip. Too well treated to ignore back in this sphere.
Miami Magic 5/1
Has some mixed form over fences but notably got the better of Regent’s Stroll at Cheltenham at the start of the year before coming 3rd in a good renewal of the Scilly Isles Chase. Flourished over a longer trip at Newbury last time out, winning by 15 lengths and will be fresher than his rivals who had a hard race at Cheltenham. Unexposed over this trip and has a touch of class.
Sober Glory 8/13
A touch unlucky in the Supreme, carving out the running in front and just being reeled in over the last. Did well to rally to be 2nd despite getting into a barging match. Will be more effective over this flatter track and can really turn the screw on these from the front end.
Heart Wood 6/4
Took the Ryanair Chase apart at Cheltenham last month in good style, pulling 10 lengths clear of a good yard stick in Jonbon. Quick ground on an intermediate trip looks his absolute ideal and will be hard to beat again for Henry De Bromhead.
Bill Baxter 20/1
Goes well over these fences and won this race in 2023. Shaped well again here on the Grand National course in December to be 6th in the Becher Chase, not quite staying the extended trip. Back down in trip and off the back of a very encouraging run to a well treated sort at Kelso last time out, a mark of 136 looks very workable.
No Drama This End 4/1
Sent off a warm favourite at Cheltenham, wasn’t knocked around too much and pulled up when his chance had clearly gone, likely trying to save his chances for this festival. Steps up in trip now on this flat track looks like it will draw out some further improvement. Unbeaten over hurdles prior to his Cheltenham blip and can continue to progress now.
